Seoul (Agenzia Fides) – A Youtube channel for the Catholic Church in Korea: this is the initiative launched by the “Catholic Peace Broadcasting Corporation” (CPBC) in order to be present on the network and offer the faithful the transmission of daily masses, liturgies and prayers, but also original content such as talk show programs on topical issues and content provided and produced by the different Catholic organizations, congregations or movements in the country. As a note from the Communication Office of the Archdiocese of Seoul explains to Fides, in the recent conference of “Signis Asia” (held on the web last May), dedicated to the topic of online TV, the delegates of the Asian Churches of various countries appreciated the potential of Youtube channels as places of production and dissemination of the contents proposed by the Catholic media, therefore as channels of evangelization. Simon Jung-Rae Cho, Korean Catholic priest and president of the CPBC, said: “Our goal is to spread the Christian message and the voice of the Korean Catholic Church to the world by encouraging online interaction at all levels.
