Jonathan Ruiz-Correa allegedly claimed to be a 17-year-old chatting on Snapchat with a 14-year-old girl in May, officials say. AUSTIN, Texas — An Austin man was arrested for allegedly exploiting a minor on Wednesday, according to the Department of Justice (DOJ).  Court documents reveal that Jonathan Ruiz-Correa, 29, was allegedly using the name “Lucas” and claimed to be a 17-year-old chatting on Snapchat with a 14-year-old girl in May.  The criminal complaint alleges Ruiz-Correa was aware of the minor’s age with conversations that included discussion of sexually explicit videos that Ruiz-Correa wanted the victim to send to him, which officials say she later did. The DOJ said Ruiz-Correa also allegedly explored paying for the victim to travel from out of state to meet him. On two occasions, Ruiz-Correa allegedly used a PayPal account to send the victim money.  Authorities say aside from alleged chats on Snapchat between Ruiz-Correa and the minor, there were also chats on Instagram between the two. The victim allegedly learned the age of Ruiz-Correa when she began a conversation with one of his female followers on Instagram, who said that he had been trying to talk with her as well.
