While plot details and a release date remain under wraps, the film will be developed by Sony Pictures and PlayStation Productions, who say the adaption will be true to the spirit of the game. The news was confirmed at this year’s CinemaCon, which brings together studios and cinema executives for a sneak peek at upcoming productions. The annual event kicked off in Las Vegas on Monday. Attendees were also treated to Tom Holland in hologram form presenting a fresh clip of Spider-Man: Brand New Day, as well as a first look at The Social Reckoning, the highly-anticipated sequel to the acclaimed 2010 film The Social Network.
