DALLAS – NM State student-athletes Bailey Bowles and Angela Korte have been recognized for their excellence in the classroom and in competition, earning spots on the 2025 Conference USA All-Academic Team, announced in a press release on Friday afternoon. Graduate student Bailey Bowles , a Roswell native, boasts a perfect 4.00 GPA in Communication Disorders. In addition to her academic accolades – including the 2025 CUSA Commissioner’s Academic Medal and Honor Roll selection – Bowles made her mark in the javelin and discus this season. She recorded the top javelin throw of the year for the Aggies (44.74m), secured four top-10 finishes, and earned a first-place finish at the Greyhound Open. She also competed in the discus at the CUSA Outdoor Championships. Junior Angela Korte from Albuquerque holds a 3.92 GPA while studying Biology, and matched her academic honors – including a 2025 CUSA Commissioner’s Academic Medal and Honor Roll selection – with a strong season on the track. She competed in 10 meets, contributed to a school-record-setting distance medley relay team at the CUSA Indoor Championships, and scored in the 800m at the CUSA Outdoor Championships.
