A cafe manager has been forced to apologise after he shared a picture of a receipt describing customers as ‘two very annoying Asians’ online. Shay Hayston, an owner of Froth on Brunswick and The Stand, in Brisbane, Australia, had allegedly shared the image of the receipt on his Snapchat account, captioning it: ‘Omg I love my staff’, followed by three crying laughing emojis. He then allegedly told concerned customer Alec Madara it was ‘just a joke’ when he messaged to complain. Mr Madara said he thought it was ‘completely unacceptable’ that staff at the cafe would refer to their customers this way. In screenshots from Snapchat, Mr Hayston allegedly replies with: ‘Oh give it a rest’. The messages continue: ‘Oh get a grip. It is just a joke. Did I say it no.’ Mr Madara can be seen responding: ‘But you’re the manager. It’s your job to call out behaviour like that.
