Twisp cohousing project moves forward – Methow Valley News

Three couples who are longtime valley residents want to secure their future here by creating a cohousing community in Twisp, on the bank of the Methow River. That dream is one step closer to reality, after the Twisp Planning Commission on Wednesday (Feb. 11) approved Stonefly Community LLC’s proposal for seven new homes and a commonly held clubhouse. The commission is submitting Stonefly’s application to the town council for final approval. Ordinarily, building seven homes on a raised bench on what is now a vacant 2.28-acre property wouldn’t need to go through a public hearing. The site’s multifamily zoning allows for up to 11 homes above the floodplain. But the zoning does not permit a clubhouse without the support of the planning commission and the council. All three couples were present at last week’s planning commission hearing: Jeff Hardy and Maria Converse,  » Read More

Seattle Mariners’ Naylor was serious about dog’s role in him re-signing

Move over, Julio and Ichiro. There’s a new pair of best friends at Seattle Mariners spring training that’s getting all the attention. Seattle Mariners have an approach to spring training with WBC looming Usually this time of year, we see the annual social media post of M’s All-Star center fielder Julio Rodríguez and Hall of Famer Ichiro Suzuki playing catch, because it’s always fun to remember that they’re regular throwing partners even though one is a 25-year-old active superstar and the other is a 52-year-old legend now almost seven years removed from his last MLB game. And true to form, we got that social media post on Tuesday morning, the same day the full Mariners squad reported to spring camp at the team’s complex in Peoria, Ariz. J-Rod's throwing partner? It's Ichiro Suzuki 🤩 pic.twitter.com/Oq3Pfpga4P — MLB (@MLB) February 17, 2026 But that post was beaten by about an hour by a video of a new favorite pairing in camp: first baseman Josh Naylor and the Mariners’ official clubhouse dog,  » Read More

What Mets’ superstars are saying about clubhouse issues, new-look roster – Yahoo Sports

PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. — If there’s anything Francisco Lindor and Juan Soto are on the same page about this spring, it’s what they think about this new-look Mets roster. Both superstars spoke at Mets camp for the first time on Sunday and praised the club’s front office for all the moves they made this past offseason. Advertisement “, they sat down and made great moves definitely,” Soto said. “They tried hard, big names, big players. They missed, but they found a way to get a better team. I think we have a really good team. We have everything we need right now. When you see the roster, I think we’re really complete.” “Whenever Stearns, Cohen and the whole front office make a decision, it’s for the better of the organization,” said Lindor. “I feel like this team is better than last year.” Lindor proceeded to walk through the Mets’ roster position-by-position, detailing exactly why he believes this is a better team than it was a year ago.  » Read More

Juan Soto addresses Mets’ clubhouse issues, roster turnover, move to LF – The Athletic

PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. — The second year of Juan Soto’s marriage with the New York Mets is starting with significant change, and the superstar outfielder is on board with it. The clubhouse is different. Or at least that’s the expectation. After the Mets failed to make the playoffs in the first season of Soto’s 15-year, $765 million deal, multiple media outlets reported on New York’s clubhouse atmosphere. Mets manager Carlos Mendoza told the New York Post that while the clubhouse had a professional room, the vibe became “corporate.” When asked about his perception of the clubhouse last year, Soto said on Sunday, “That is in the past. We forget about it. We focus on 2026.” How could things improve in that area in 2026? Soto said, “Have fun. Forget about all the drama and everything. Focus on the game, and win some ballgames.” The contrast in styles between Soto and Mets shortstop Francisco Lindor also drew attention after the season. People within the team last year said Soto was more businesslike,  » Read More
