Among the dozens of movies that tell stories about baseball, some of the most beloved are those that were written for events that actually happened. “Based on a true story” films bring a slice of history back to life, and, if effective, make us think (and debate). Today, we continue our movie roundtable series with four movies known for being true-to-life: “A League of Their Own,” “42,” “The Rookie” and “Eight Men Out.” Our panelists -- Mark Bowman, Ian Browne, Christina DeNicola, Alyson Footer, Steve Gilbert and Bill Ladson -- conducted a spirited debate, diving into the nuances of each film. New Delhi: The Delhi Police on Saturday said it had questioned six people, including two women and a juvenile, in connection with a chat on the Clubhouse application wherein objectionable and abusive comments were made against women.It has not made any arrest in the case yet. A clip of the chat on the app has gone viral, following which the police action began. One of the users, Kerala-resident Anchal Anand, joined the investigation and admitted to having username Anchal on Clubhouse. She had participated in a conversation with one Roma, a senior police officer said. During the chat room discussion, other members had passed derogatory and vulgar comments regarding women, but Anchal had only passed general remarks. Her mobile phone and notepad have been seized, the police said. User Naumaan Jabber, a resident of Jodhpur in Rajasthan, had created an account on Clubhouse on July 25 last year with the username @mr_casanova. He was using this account continuously since then, the police said. Rendering of a Quartet townhome More than 200 single-family housing sites and over 100 townhomes could pop up in Meridian, according to an application submitted to the city. Brighton Corp. is looking to build Quartet South that would bring 229 single-family lots and 140 townhome units to the east side of Black Cat Rd between McMillian and Ustick Roads. A site map shows the lots ranging from over 4,000 square feet to over 6,000 square feet. Quartet South is part of the larger Quartet Subdivision located in the same area. The new addition to the subdivision would sit on almost 70 acres of land with several amenities. Quartet South would feature a community pool with changing rooms, a clubhouse, a children’s play area, and over 10 acres of open space. The pool, clubhouse, and play structure are all set up around the same area of the subdivision. A day after the Delhi Police registered an FIR against people who allegedly made derogatory remarks against Muslim women during a session on Clubhouse app, Cyber Cell officials said they have narrowed down on four-five suspects and will bring them in for questioning. On Tuesday, the Delhi Police took cognizance of a group on Clubhouse, an audio-only app, where dozens of users participated in a discussion during which derogatory and sexually loaded remarks were made about Muslim women. The discussion was recorded and shared online, prompting the Delhi Commission for Women to write to the police seeking action. Cyber Cell officials said they have sent notices to the US-based company seeking details of the users/organisers who started the group, and have also sent a notice to Google Play Store to “keep a check” on such apps.
