He was 69. WSCR-AM reported Grobstein died Sunday at his home. No cause was given. Grobstein had been the station’s overnight host since 2009. The spot suited him because of its dependence on callers and his willingness to listen and engage hardcore fans in lengthy discussions. “The Grobber” also had an encyclopedic knowledge of Chicago sports. He was at Wrigley Field on April 29, 1983, when Elia — then the Cubs manager — went off on the team’s fans following a loss to the Los Angeles Dodgers. The crowd threw garbage at Keith Moreland and Larry Bowa as they made their way from the dugout to the clubhouse afterward. The 4-3 loss dropped the Cubs to 5-14 and Elia’s frustration spilled out during a lengthy tirade,  » Read More

Each site creates its own database and usually just takes care of it. But with this error, every time a site interacts with its database, a copy – blank – of it is created for other active tabs or windows in which other sites are consulted. Meta’s continuing its work of reformatting the NPE team, with yet another project having been shut down by the social media conglomerate. The latest app to get the axe is Sparked, a dating app with the premise that users could hold four minute meetings with potential matches in the form of video chats. This would supposedly help them weed out potentially unwanted candidates, your creeps and whatnot. However, the premise never really managed to develop and audience to latch on to and therefore Meta decided to abandon Sparked in its entirety. As of yet, plans remain to integrate the platform’s features into Facebook Dating, and it was announced that Sparked would lose all project support on the 20th of January, 2021. However, this is far from being the first platform that Meta’ New Product Experimentation division seems to have bundled. In fact, Meta’s starting to develop a streak of starting and exterminating projects and applications that might even rival the Google Graveyard itself.Screenshots via: TheVerge.  » Read More
