Topgolf Callaway just made a major move: it’s selling 60% of Topgolf and Toptracer to private equity firm Leonard Green & Partners for $1.1 billion USD. It’s a big reset moment and a sign that Callaway is shifting back toward being a pure golf brand, not a nightlife-and-wings entertainment empire. The deal comes only a few years after Callaway merged with Topgolf in a $2.6B USD all-stock blockbuster that was supposed to redefine the brand. And for a while, it did. Dozens of new Topgolf venues opened and the experience became a cultural gateway into the game. But building massive venues is expensive, and the business relies on constant foot traffic. Addressing a press conference here, JKSA National Convenor Nasir Khuehami said a “particular community is being targeted after the attack”, claiming that Kashmiri students are being harassed in universities and localities in states such as Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Rajasthan and Delhi. “Kashmiri students believe in India’s democracy and in the mainstream, not in terrorism. But they are being profiled and vilified by authorities and local people across states. Many landlords have asked Kashmiri tenants to vacate their rooms, forcing several students to return home out of fear,” Khuehami said. He added that the association had “no objection to any investigation” into the blast, but demanded that the Centre ensure the safety of Kashmiri students and prevent “collective suspicion”. “We request the Prime Minister to make a public statement. » Read More

However, they have other needs, especially if they trade Nick Castellanos and Alec Bohm, and could use some new faces in the clubhouse after two disappointing NLDS losses. Enter free agent Alex Bregman, who opted out of his deal with the Boston Red Sox. ESPN's Jeff Passan recently compiled a list of what he believes is each team's perfect offseason addition. For the Phillies, the MLB insider thinks third baseman Bregman is the ideal move for Philadelphia. The case can certainly be made that the second overall pick in the 2015 MLB Draft is the right kind of player the Phillies need to add to help win a World Series. » Read More

Inspired by her own children’s love of cooking, she created a space where young chefs could thrive. Two years in the making, Culinary Clubhouse is open, offering weekly 90-minute classes for $259 a month or $75 to drop in. At a recent session, pasta was on the agenda. Kids hand-rolled ravioli and stuffed it with plain cheese or butternut squash. Sampling (barring any allergies) is encouraged from an "at least try it mindset for picky eaters," Barrera said. Parents can watch their children through massive glass windows overlooking the two state-of-the-art kitchens. Kids listen, measure, stir, knead, roll, stuff and season their ingredients. For younger age groups, instructors cook each child’s food on the stove for consumption at the end of the class. Garden City's Culinary Clubhouse, a cooking school for kids.
