By Tara Fischer Staff Writer (March 19, 2026) A former employee of the Ocean Pines Clubhouse Bar and Grille was convicted of felony theft earlier this month following a 2025 investigation that revealed more than $13,000 in bank deposits had gone missing over several weeks. On March 6, former clubhouse manager Grayson Ashley Mitchell, 39, of Ocean Pines, was found guilty in Worcester County District Court in Snow Hill after being charged with felony theft of $1,500 – $25,000. Renewed focus on clubhouse leadership fueling Pirates’ optimism – MLB.com

BRADENTON, Fla. -- Before Pirates players took the field for workouts on a chilly Tuesday morning at LECOM Park, an unexpected conversation played out in the corner of the home clubhouse. Konnor Griffin, a 19-year-old from Mississippi who’s yet to play a Major League game, had questions for Marcell Ozuna, a 35-year-old native of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, who’s appeared in more than 1,600 games over 13 seasons. Griffin and Ozuna had a deep discussion over various approaches and the process of making adjustments at the highest level. “He’s gonna do well,” Ozuna said of Griffin after Pittsburgh’s 10-2 loss to Houston, which dropped its Grapefruit League record to 15-9. “He learns and will improve what he has.” The hope – no, expectation – is that Griffin isn’t alone. It's essentially that the Pirates added some veteran leaders this offseason to their position-player group to spur more conversations like the one between MLB Pipeline's No. 1 overall prospect and the veteran Ozuna.  » Read More

Leisure scheme plotted at Bootle Golf Course – Place North West

Sefton Council has entered into partnership with ex-Everton player Victor Anichebe’s Lumira Group to bring a hotel, clubhouse and more to a vacant plot next to the facility. In the longer term, the plan is for the golf course itself to be improved as part of the project. Lumira Group will lease unused land at the corner of Dunnings Bridge Road and Boundary Road to deliver a new leisure development. Proposals, which will go out for consultation ahead of a planning submission, are expected to include a modern clubhouse, hotel, padel courts, and a range of leisure and community facilities including a podcast space. As part of the partnership, the council and Lumira will also explore a future management agreement for Bootle Golf Course, which could see substantial improvements made to the facility. According to Sefton, Lumira could bring around £20m of private investment to transform the community asset. Under any agreement, green fees for existing members, residents, juniors and over 65s will remain affordable, with any changes subject to the council’s established fees and charges process.  » Read More

DeChambeau Beats LIV Wild Card Richard T. Lee In A Singapore Playoff

SINGAPORE (AP) — Bryson DeChambeau hit his drive into the water and still won the playoff with a par Sunday at LIV Golf Singapore when Richard T. Lee of Canada missed a 2-foot putt. DeChambeau birdied the par-5 18th for a 5-under 66. Lee birdied four of his last six holes for a 66. They finished on 14-under 274 at Sentosa Golf Club. Lee Westwood closed with a 70 and finished third, his best finish in LIV. Lee was trying to become the first wild card — players not affiliated with a team — to win in the LIV Golf League. It looked certain the playoff would go another hole when Lee had a 2-footer for par. He jabbed at it with a quick stroke and it spun out hard off the left lip. “It was a short putt and I wanted to just hit it hard, and I hit it a little too hard,” Lee said. “I think the adrenaline was pumping a little bit.” The 35-year-old Lee picked up $2,250,000 for his runner-up finish,  » Read More
