The Spivs Burleigh Heads Tickets, Mo’s Desert Clubhouse Nov 14, 2025 | Bandsintown

About this concert Lamenting the chronic shortage of real guitar rock and roll afflicting this ever fracturing planet, ex-Radio Birdman, Hitmen, New Christs and Screaming Tribesmen guitarist Chris Masuak is returning to Australia to do something about it. Chris Masuak’s Dog Soldier will land at Mo’s Desert Clubhouse Burleigh Heads on Friday November 14. Supports will be Brisbane’s Dr Bombay and Gold Coast garage rockers The Spivs. It’s been more than two years since Masuak left his adopted home of Spain and came back to his longtime old stamping ground of Australia but he hasn’t been idle. As well as gigging through Europe, he’s released an EP with his main Spanish band, Los Revelators, a swansong single with his other Spanish band, The Viveiro Wave Riders (on US label Savage Magic). He’s had a song included on UK label Cherry Red’s “I Wanna Be A Teen Again - American Power Pop 1980-1989” box set (by virtue of being born in Canada) and has recorded a new record with Chris Masuak’s Dog Soldier. Athletics’ Kurtz day-to-day with oblique soreness | theScore.com

by The Associated Press Aug 31, 1:58 AM Michaela Schumacher / Major League Baseball / Getty WEST SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) — Nick Kurtz is day-to-day after experiencing right oblique soreness against the Texas Rangers on Friday, Athletics manager Mark Kotsay said on Saturday. The rookie had an MRI that returned "clean," Kotsay said. Kurtz was not in the lineup for the second game of a three-game series on Saturday. He began feeling discomfort after batting practice Friday. During the game, he drew a walk, was rounding third base, and heading for home on Brent Rooker's double in the third inning when he apparently aggravated the soreness and slowed down. He crossed the plate to tie the game at 2-2, but walked to the clubhouse immediately after with the team medical staff. Kotsay said there is no strain in terms of muscle tissue, but Kurtz is currently dealing with pain tolerance. Kotsay did not say when Kurtz would return. "We hope to get him back sooner than later," Kotsay said.  » Read More

Juday Creek Golf Course continuing to rebuild one year after massive fire at clubhouse

GRANGER, Ind. (WNDU) - On Aug. 26, 2024, a huge fire engulfed the clubhouse at Juday Creek Golf Course, burning it to the ground. When fire crews were there, the fire had already burned through the floor and was extending into the attic space overhead. State Sen. Linda Rogers recalls what used to fill this vacant lot after losing the clubhouse at her golf course just over a year ago. “Area right here was a snack shop,” Rogers said. And memories as well. “When we do our junior programs these kids, they come so excited to play golf and then their coach might be a college golfer, high school golfer that they can look up to, so I think people grow and that has been the best.” Despite the devastating fire, the popular golf course has never closed. In fact, it’s received some meaningful upgrades. When the fire broke out, firefighters struggled to bring the water inside the golf course because there was no fire hydrant there.  » Read More

US Open Tennis Champs Alcaraz, Federer And Nadal Love Golf. Golfers Say … – SwingU Clubhouse

NEW YORK (AP) — Carlos Alcaraz is among the tennis stars getting into the swing of things at the U.S. Open. A golf swing, that is. After his first-round victory at Flushing Meadows this week, the five-time Grand Slam champion used his racket to pantomime using a club on the course — perhaps a nod to one of the spectators in the stands at Arthur Ashe Stadium that night, golf star Rory McIlroy. Plenty of athletes eyeing a trophy on the hard courts of New York, including the person Alcaraz beat in the 2022 men’s final, Casper Ruud, and 2024 women’s runner-up Jessica Pegula, are swapping fuzzy yellow tennis balls for dimpled white golf balls as a way to relax. So are past tennis greats such as Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal. Alcaraz and Ruud sometimes travel on tour with their clubs. Even during Wimbledon last month — when he famously went golfing with Andy Murray on off days — and while preparing to go to the U.S.  » Read More
