How Chapman University Helped Launch Ethan Santana’s (’25) Career Journey with the …

When Ethan Santana from San Diego, CA, began searching for colleges, he had two passions in mind: data and baseball. Chapman University, one of the few schools at the time offering a dedicated undergraduate Data Science program, quickly rose to the top of his list. “It was the perfect mix of computer science and statistics,” Santana says. “It just clicked.” Once on campus, Santana immediately immersed himself in opportunities that would define his Chapman experience and shape his future. He secured a work-study job at Chapman’s Career and Professional Development Office during his first year and remained there all four years. That job, he says, gave him real-world experience and crucial insight into how to craft strong resumes and cover letters, helping prepare him for the competitive world of professional sports. But perhaps the most pivotal chapter of his college journey came when Santana approached the Chapman baseball team with a simple request—to let him help. He wasn’t a player, just a data-driven student with a passion for the game and a willingness to learn.  » Read More

Thursday BP: Giants kick KNBR out of clubhouse studio – Yahoo Sports

Good morning, baseball fans! Earlier this week, it was reported by Alex Simon of SFGate that the San Francisco Giants had revoked access to the in-house studio (affectionately referred to as the “Bunker”) that had been used by KNBR since the park opened. Advertisement For those who aren’t familiar with the inner workings of the ballpark, there is a dedicated studio for KNBR where they were able to do recordings and store equipment. Here, enjoy this blurry collage of pictures I have from the last time I did a clubhouse tour for reference: The top left portion is the Bunker, below that is part of the training room, and on the right is the kitchen/dining area. While these areas are not directly part of the clubhouse, they are near enough to be included on the tour of the clubhouse that is available to the public. This allowed for hosts to record right on site, and store equipment for broadcasts held outside of the park. This news was announced by KNBR host Adam Copeland during his show last Wednesday,  » Read More

London’s Gymkhana And Ambassadors Clubhouse To Open In The US Later This Year

London's opulent Ambassadors Clubhouse will be opening a location in New York's NoMad neighborhood later this fall JKS Restaurants It was through the late Richard Vines—one of Britain’s foremost food critics and a dear friend—that I first heard about Ambassadors Clubhouse. On August 25, 2024— the same month the restaurant opened on Mayfair’s bustling Heddon Street— he wrote, “I have a new favorite London restaurant, Ambassadors Clubhouse. It scores, for me, on food, service and ambience, with beautiful designs and a menu full of possibilities. It's the best of JKS restaurants. I was sorry when Momo closed, but Ambassadors Clubhouse is a worthy successor. Five stars.” Naturally, on my next trip to London, it was first on my list of places to visit. Like Richard, I found that its menu celebrating the food of undivided Punjab— India and Pakistan— and their shared heritage (I still think of the velvety Ranjit Shahi prawn curry served with flaky ajwaini warqi naan) blew me away, as did its opulent interiors inspired by party mansions from the region.  » Read More

A’s find hope in Kurtz, youth as team eyes Vegas | The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette

WEST SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- Even Athletics veterans walk around the clubhouse wearing "Nick Kurtz goes yard" T-shirts, and they know what he means for the franchise's future. Kurtz, who recently had one of the greatest individual performances in big-league history, is the odds-on favorite to be AL Rookie of the Year. He's hardly the only talented youngster giving A's fans -- wherever they might be -- reason to feel optimistic about the team's on-field direction. The A's are in transition in more ways than one. Most notably, the club is playing the first of what's expected to be three seasons in Sacramento -- a temporary, minor league home for the former Oakland franchise until a new stadium is scheduled to be ready in Las Vegas for 2028. The roster is shaping up to be a dynamic and competitive one when they arrive. Kurtz is the headliner, but teammate Jacob Wilson was the second favorite for top rookie before going on the injured list last week with a broken left forearm. Former Yankees pitcher Lance Lynn defends Aaron Boone — this is what you aren’t seeing

Aaron Boone has been catching all kinds of heat for the Yankees’ recent struggles, but former pitcher Lance Lynn is stepping to the manager’s defense. “If it needs to be addressed, he is addressing it,” the longtime pitcher said Monday on the “Foul Territory” podcast. “He’s not gonna talk through the media, he’s not gonna tell you what’s going on in the clubhouse. He played the game, he played at a very high level. He knows how it works. Whatever happens in the clubhouse stays in the clubhouse.” Boone has caught blowback from fans who are frustrated that he has not held his players more accountable after mistakes, but Lynn is certain that the manager is doing his job – behind closed doors. "The more that gets out in New York, the worse it gets." Lance Lynn is positive that Aaron Boone is saying what you want to hear from him behind closed doors. pic.twitter.com/n9rTcO8AVG — Foul Territory (@FoulTerritoryTV) August 4, 2025 “Positive he’s addressing everything that’s going wrong with the players,  » Read More
