Senior guard Alli Carlson made a career-high five threes on Monday night to lead the Broncos in Columbus. Carlson was the only WMU player to get into double digits, scoring 15 points through 38 minutes of play. Four other members of the Brown and Gold scored eight points each, while senior forward Ariana Wilkes led on defense with 10 boards. Western Michigan won the tip to begin Monday night's action, but it was Ohio State who got on the board first. The Broncos were able to match the Buckeyes shots through the first four minutes. WMU then fell behind on an 8-2 run as the Ohio State lead grew to eight. The Brown and Gold were able to get the deficit down to three on Carlson's second trey of the night. It was a targeted assassination that that an Islamist militant group said was carried out by local Israeli-backed militia. A Hamas-linked group later claimed that the slain imam was a jihadist who had concealed Israeli hostages during the Gaza war, and accused the hitman of belonging to a new Israeli-supported militia led by Hussam Al-Astal – a former prisoner in Hamas-ruled Gaza who is now openly working to topple the militant group that has ruled the territory with an iron first for nearly two decades.
