In The Q1 Of 2021 Facebook Has Already Sold 5 Million Quest 2 Units

Facebook has just come out with their Q1 2021 earnings report and looking at the results, we are very sure that the company may just move to invest heavily in the VR and AR devices in times to come. Going by the predictions made by developers and analysts as they estimated Facebook selling 2 to 3 million units of Oculus Quest 2 last year, the company has also sold another 2 million units already in the first quarter of 2021. If all of these estimates are true then Quest 2 now enjoys 5 million users - a milestone that no other device has been able to enjoy as of now.Even if we look at the most successful VR headset of all time - which is the PlayStation VR - Sony has only been able to sell 5 million units ever since it first came out in 2016. This overall means that Facebook has managed to sell as many units of second-generation VR headset altogether what Sony could manage within the span of 5 years.  » Read More

Facebook is having a spike in outage reports, indicating it's down for some

Update April 30, 2021 at 12:22 pm ET: Facebook outage reports are going down, signaling that this might've just been a flash-in-the-pan issue. Just in time for the glut of social media traffic that occurs when people pray for Friday to be over and for the weekend to start, Facebook appears to be having issues. Outage reports started spiking shortly before 12 p.m. ET. It seems as though Instagram, Facebook Messenger, and WhatsApp remain relatively unaffected, so perhaps issues aren't that widespread. Furthermore, it looks like outage reports regarding Facebook are going down as I type this sentence. There's a chance that problems have leveled off and Facebook has everything under control now, in stark contrast to the whole thirty minutes where things seemingly got out of control. If anything changes, this post will be updated. Facebook 'seems to be in a sweet spot,' and the stock is headed for a record high

Facebook Inc.’s stock was up 7% and headed for a record high after earnings Thursday. That comes as no surprise to financial analysts, who showered the social-networking giant FB, +7.30% with praise following another blockbuster quarter of advertising sales as well as a spike in non-ad revenue. “Facebook seems to be in a sweet spot where it is growing revenue at record cadence while keeping ad load relatively in check (evidenced by the 12% impression growth vs. DAU 8% Y/Y),” Barclays analyst Ross Sandler said in hiking his price target to $410 from $350. “Nascent product areas like commerce, paid messaging and the creator tools provide bulls with new upside scenarios.” Analysts on FactSet, who raised their average price target on Facebook shares to $370.12, are sold on the company’s fiscal first-quarter report Wednesday. Facebook crushed analyst estimates with $26.2 billion in revenue and net income of $9.5 billion, or $3.30 a share. Advertising, which accounts for nearly all of Facebook’s sales, soared 46% to $25.4 billion as millions of small- and midsize businesses take to online ads to reach consumers during the pandemic.  » Read More
