The Local Meals Program provides residents in Trumbull that have been impacted in some way by COVID-19 or have a need within their families, an allotment of lunches and/or dinners from Trumbull restaurants that have signed on to the Local Meals program. Residents will be screened for the program and must provide information for how they are currently being impacted by COVID-19. Some examples could be, being diagnosed with COVID, currently in quarantine, financial insecurity, or homebound/isolation. Once approved for the program, you will receive the information necessary in order to participate from the Trumbull Human Services Department. So far, 10 Trumbull restaurants have signed on to the program.Residents will order off the regular restaurant menus. The program does not provide for eat in dining, it is only for takeout, curbside pickup or delivery.For residents who would like more information on the Local Meals Program, please contact Social Services at (203) 452-5198 and/or the Senior Center at (203) 452-5199. UMortgage has acquired Motto Mortgage Apex located in Cincinnati, Ohio, a Motto Mortgage brokerage franchise.The branch has been headed by mortgage broker Breon Price for over three years. Following the acquisition, it was renamed to UMortgage Cincy. It is uncertain how many employees will transition to the Philadelphia-based mortgage company. Price announced the acquisition via his LinkedIn page, noting that he started the company from his condo "with the slowest internet imaginable" and that he put "everything had into the company.""For the last 3 years, I've been the number one broker in Ohio. By the end of this year, it'll be announced that my company was the number one brokerage for the second consecutive time," he said."I never thought I would sell, but I'm even more fired up to take it to UMortgage. We're partnering with UMortgage for many reasons, but the one that stands out the most is their winners mindset," Price wrote in a message on LinkedIn. At the time of publication, UMortgage did not respond to a request for comment. SAN FRANCISCO, California — Twitter announced Sunday that it would no longer allow users to promote their accounts from a host of other social media platforms, including Facebook and Instagram — the latest policy change by the company under its controversial new owner Elon Musk. The move — which also affects Mastodon, Post, and Truth Social, as well as third-party social media link aggregators such as linktr.ee and ink.bio — comes after users started encouraging their followers to view their posts elsewhere, given the sea changes at Twitter. “Going forward, Twitter will no longer allow free promotion of specific social media platforms,” it said in a statement. “At both the Tweet level and the account level, we will remove any free promotion of prohibited 3rd-party social media platforms, such as linking out (i.e., using URLs) to any of the below platforms on Twitter, or providing your handle without a URL,” the company explained. Facebook parent company Meta says more than two-thirds of the influence operations it found and took down this year used profile pictures that were generated by a computer. As the artificial intelligence behind these fakes has become more widely available and better at creating life-like faces, bad actors are adapting them for their attempts to manipulate social media networks. "It looks like these threat actors are thinking, this is a better and better way to hide," said Ben Nimmo, who leads global threat intelligence at Meta.
