The company will now enable all creators to access hosting capabilities. With the update, all LinkedIn creators who use the platform's "creator mode" will be able to host live audio events so long as they stay in line with the platform's "community policies of being a trustworthy, safe, and professional provider of content," reports Engadget.Though event hosting is currently limited to creators, any LinkedIn user is able to participate in the chats, the report said.Similar to Clubhouse, creators on LinkedIn can schedule their audio events in advance and share the upcoming talks with their network.The company said creators are already using audio features to expand their professional networks, connect with potential clients and reach new followers.Video-centric live events are also in the works, though LinkedIn has not given an update on when that will launch.The expansion comes as LinkedIn has significantly ramped up its efforts to become a more creator-centric platform, the report said.The company said more than 10 million people are using the site's…

There were 11.4 million jobs openings in April, according to the Labor Department. Few people are as closely linked with YouTube as Ben Relles. The Wisconsin native has been making content on the world’s top online video platform since 2007. He joined the company as an exec in 2011 and spent 11 years developing new original programs for it. Now, that decade-plus tenure has come to an end. In a LinkedIn post, Relles announced that he is “headed to a new opportunity.” He has teamed up with Reid Hoffman and will work closely with the LinkedIn co-founder “on content strategy across a portfolio of his investments in AI, Web3, video and other seed-stage and growth companies.” Relles developed a close relationship with Hoffman in 2020 when the two innovators united for the Good to Vote campaign, which was initiated by Relles and funded by Hoffman. As a result of that push, 150,000 people registered to vote. The reports flooded into Downdetector earlier today. 1LinkedIn isn't working for thousands of users According to the monitoring site, 76% of reported issues were associated with the LinkedIn website. It's unclear exactly what caused the problems but reports are dropping off now. The LinkedIn website suggested it was a server issue. People reported seeing a notice which read: "Unable to locate the server, the server does not have a DNS entry". DNS stands for Domain Name System and that's software that takes human names and can convert them to an IP address. That's something very important when you're searching for user profiles on LinkedIn. There have been over 5,000 reports of issues in the US. Thousands of issues were also reported in the UK. Local officials hope to use federal infrastructure funding to make safety improvements on Roosevelt Boulevard, where more than a tenth of the city’s traffic deaths happen. Philadelphia’s Roosevelt Boulevard, a notoriously dangerous corridor, saw 10 to 13 percent of the city’s total traffic fatalities every year before the pandemic, reports Claudia Lauer for Insurance Journal. “Roosevelt Boulevard is an almost 14-mile maze of chaotic traffic patterns that passes through some of the city’s most diverse neighborhoods and census tracts with the highest poverty rates. Driving can be dangerous with cars traversing between inner and outer lanes, but biking or walking on the boulevard can be even worse with some pedestrian crossings longer than a football field and taking four light cycles to cross.” Safety advocates hope to see changes coming to the street soon. “Kelley Yemen, director of Philadelphia’s Complete Streets program, said the city is hoping for federal money to begin a long-term redesign of Roosevelt outlined in a study released in 2019.
