This is to ensure collaborative research and development between the two. Prof CSP Rao, Director, NIT AP and Naga Krishna R Sathvalli, Director, Business Systems Programme, LinkedIn signed the MoU and on behalf of LinkedIn, this research collaboration will be spearheaded by Chidambaran Kollengode, Director, Data and AI Platforms division of LinkedIn. As per the MoU, a research grant will be awarded to principal investigator Dr Karthick Seshadri, Assistant Professor, NIT AP and the co-investigator Dr Nagesh Bhattu Sristy, Assistant Professor, NIT AP so that they can work on solving open research problems in enabling intelligent and elastic cloud computing. Former senior LinkedIn manager Thogori Chege Karago was found dead at a hotel in Westlands, Nairobi on Friday, January 21. Karago, 33, was found in her room on the hotel’s third floor. The door to her room had been locked from the inside, and attendants had to break it down to gain access. Police were called to the scene, where they removed Karago’s body and took it to a nearby morgue at 5pm. Kilimani Sub-County Police Commander Muturi Mbogo told The Standard that there were no physical injuries on Karago’s body. “We found some medicine in her room. It is suspected she had a blood clot in the brain,” said Mbogo. A postmortem conducted on Karago indicated that the results were “inconclusive”. “Her samples were taken for further analysis,” said Mbogo. Karago served as LinkedIn’s Head of Research and Development for Africa region for four years, between 2014 and 2018. by Jason Parker — January 24, 2022 RALEIGH – A Raleigh startup that provides a medication management platform, Truentity Health, has raised a $1 million pre-seed funding round to accelerate the company’s product development and to make key hires. “We are thrilled to announce that Truentity Health has raised $1M in Pre-Seed funding,” a LinkedIn post from company cofounder and CEO Mike Desai reads. Truentity Health cofounders Mike Desai and Rajeev Tipnis. The company saw demonstrable results in its initial deployments, according to a statement issued by the startup.  The company’s platform “generated more accurate medication data” than data already within electronic health records, and providers were found to save as much as 40 minutes per patient during pre-admission or post-discharge medication reconciliation, the company stated. “Medication errors are now the leading cause of medical-related injuries, and non-optimized medication therapy costs over $528.4 billion annually,” Desai’s post reads.  “Our north star is to eliminate medication-related errors and optimize medication therapy for millions by building a modern cloud-based medication management system that is patient-centric and provider-focused.” Desai added that the company is only starting its journey.  The statement notes that the company has doubled its growth in the three prior months. …

A suspect was also wounded in the shooting in Harlem, said the official, who was not authorized to speak publicly and did so on condition of anonymity. Mayor Eric Adams was at the hospital where the officers were taken after the shooting, the third time in four days that officers have faced gunfire on the job. An officer was wounded in the leg Tuesday night in the Bronx during a struggle with a teenager who also shot himself. On Thursday, a narcotics detective was shot in the leg on Staten Island. The last NYPD officer fatally shot in the line of duty, Brian Mulkeen, was hit by friendly fire while struggling with an armed man after chasing and shooting at him in the Bronx in September 2019. Yorgey was hit while reporting for Huntington, W. Va. NBC affiliate WSAZ. On the station’s website, Yorgey said she is grateful for the support she’s received and added that her boss took her to the hospital afterwards. But the incident that was viewed live on-air seems to be taking a back seat to journalists thoughts and feelings about the practice of sending reporters out to cover stories all alone. “The reporter is a one man band doing a live shot ALONE and at night. She can’t have situational awareness,”  WCBS reporter Aundrea Cline-Thomas tweeted. “The anchor didn’t flinch or show any concern.
