Health tech startup H1 lands $58M series B to build out 'LinkedIn for healthcare'

In the middle of a global pandemic, it's critical for healthcare leaders to be able to connect with other physicians and researchers who are experts in infectious diseases or other areas of medicine impacted by the virus. It turns out startup H1 has the technology to make those connections happen. The startup developed a massive digital professional database and data analytics platform that connects healthcare professionals and life science companies. It basically serves as a LinkedIn for the pharmaceutical and biotech industries. The New York City-based health technology company has experienced explosive growth in 2020 and just raised a $58 million series round of funding, co-led by growth-stage investment firm IVP and Menlo Ventures. Transformation Capital, Lux Capital, Lead Edge Capital, Novartis dRx and YC also participated in the round. Menlo Ventures, a 44-year old venture capital firm, also led the series A round in April 2020. The startup graduated from Y Combinator's accelerator program back in January and has closed $71 million in funding in 2020. H1's platform provides comprehensive, in-depth profiles of more than 9 million healthcare professionals and 16,000 institutions in 70-plus countries, all of which are kept up to date weekly. Shama Hyder talks about how brands can make the most out of livestreaming

It’s no longer a secret that the coronavirus pandemic has led to increased social media and video consumption. And, there is no slowing down as we head into 2021. It's a tactic that smart brands will use, as evidenced by Techjury reporting that 80% of consumers would rather watch a brand’s livestreamed video than read one of its blog posts. But how? SmartBrief talked with Zen Media’s founder and CEO Shama Hyder, a sought-after keynote speaker and a LinkedIn Top Voice in Marketing, about how brands can use livestreaming video to their advantage. Below is the video interview, along with a transcript that has been lightly edited for brevity and clarity. Why is livestreaming important for brands? Livestreaming is really important because video is important and video connects consumers -- whether you're B2B or B2C -- to your brand like nothing else. In fact, did you know that over 64% of people will watch up to a 30-minute commercial video clip versus 24% who will finish reading an article. Now, what livestreaming does is it takes that video element and it makes it even more personal. It brings it even closer because the audience knows that it is “live” and…

Scoot's marketing VP Jacqueline Loh departs

Jacqueline Loh has moved on from her role as Scoot's VP, marketing after more than six years with the company. In a LinkedIn post, Loh (pictured) said it has been an amazing six years and never imagined she would come so far personally and professionally when she started in Scoot, or that she would have the privilege of taking the brand so far. During her time at Scoot, she was responsible for seeing the airline evolve from promo-driven tacticals to consumer insights-driven content marketing centred on storytelling and become a brand that inspires consumers to travel less ordinarily. Loh also led the shift from just 50% online buys to 100% measurable digital media, which drives almost 70% of total revenue on direct and consumer channels. Loh added in her post that this was done by building an end-to-end funnel using Echo remarketing, dynamic travel ads as well as payments to enable market penetration. Additionally, Loh also changed Scoot's practice of using adhoc email blasts to a full-fledged CRM of automated journeys by segment and behaviour. "This year, while frustrating in its lack of tangible achievements showed me that I could continue to innovate and continue to drive brand purpose meaningfully.…

LinkedIn can be a highly effective way for charities to communicate with stakeholders, supporters, and partners. This is largely because of its professional audience. They are keen to explore partnership opportunities, corporate volunteering, and how charities and other sectors can support each other. Among charities to see the benefit on is UK Youth, which became LinkedIn’s charity partner in 2019, aiming to help young people with their career prospects. Here we look at seven hacks for charities using LinkedIn. Always think visual Think of LinkedIn as a shop front for your charity by making sure your profile page imagery is eye-catching. This involves a circular profile image as well as a cover photo. It would be beneficial to use simple branding for the profile picture, whereas the cover photo for charities can be more imaginative. This helps to focus on simple messaging, such as the slogan for a latest campaign or fundraiser. Including a service user can add authenticity. But be aware of…

LinkedIn explained: “Page Admin and Paid Media Admin roles are provided by LinkedIn Pages to enable several levels of management to control the activities of pages. Members, associated staff, and advertisers may be assigned the roles of Page Admin and Paid Media Admin.”There is nothing new in paid media levels, however, LinkedIn came up with several internal access levels so that more choices will be available for management. Peter Aspengren posted a screenshot that shows the new upgrade in LinkedIn. The levels of new LinkedIn company page roles are: Super Admin is the option that allows every administrator to get access.
