Cloudflare outage hits sites such as Zoom, Fortnite, and LinkedIn. Here’s what we know

Published on 05/12/2025 - 11:08 GMT+1 •Updated 11:36 A Cloudflare outage hit websites including Zoom, Canva, and Fortnite on Friday, just weeks after the internet services provider suffered another major outage. The incident has affected many online services, underscoring that much of the internet is dependent on IT infrastructure from a handful of providers. Downdetector, a website that shows services affected by internet outages, reported issues across the web, including Canva, Zoom, Fortnite, League of Legends, Anthropic’s Claude AI chatbot, and LinkedIn. Cloudflare said it is experiencing "internal service degradation" on Friday morning, with internet users reporting that they were unable to access sites. "Cloudflare is investigating reports of a large number of empty pages when using the list API on a Workers KV namespace," the website read. "Cloudflare is investigating an increased level of errors for customers running Workers scripts. We are working to analyse and mitigate this problem." A similar issue occurred in October after Amazon Web Services (AWS) had a technical problem that caused issues for companies connecting to AWS's data services in the United States, impacting internet services worldwide. The recent AWS and Cloudflare outages highlight how heavily the internet depends on a small number of

Key events Show key events only Please turn on JavaScript to use this feature Jake Moore, global cybersecurity adviser at ESET, has summed up the problem: “If a major provider like Cloudflare goes down for any reason, thousands of websites instantly become unreachable. “The problems often lie with the fact we are using an old network to direct internet users around the world to websites but it simply highlights there is one huge single point of failure in this legacy design.” The

Irish media regulator begins investigations into TikTok, LinkedIn – Varindia

Ireland's media regulator has begun investigations into TikTok and LinkedIn over concerns that their illegal content reporting mechanisms are not easy to access or do not allow people to report child sexual abuse material anonymously. The probes were opened by the regulator in its new role supervising the compliance of platforms established in Ireland with the European Union's Digital Services Act (DSA). They will assess suspected contravention of parts of the law. The Coimisiún na Meán announced that it is examining whether the platforms’ mechanisms for reporting illegal content meet required standards under the EU Digital Services Act (DSA). The investigations will assess if the platforms’ reporting systems are easily accessible and user-friendly, whether they allow anonymous reporting of suspected child sexual abuse material, and if their interface designs might deceive users about how to report illegal content. "There is reason to suspect that their illegal content reporting mechanisms are not easy to access or user-friendly, do not allow people to report child sexual abuse material anonymously, as required by the DSA, and that the design of their interfaces may deter people from reporting content as illegal," said John Evans, Digital Services Commissioner at Coimisiún na Meán. The regulator began

Irish media commission to probe LinkedIn and TikTok over potential DSA breach

The investigations will probe whether the platforms make it easy to report illegal content. Ireland’s media regulator, Coimisiún na Meán (CnaM), will be investigating LinkedIn and TikTok under the EU Digital Services Act (DSA) over suspicions that the platforms’ content reporting mechanisms are not up to code. This is not TikTok’s first brush up against the DSA. The platform was found to have broken the law in a preliminary finding earlier this year. The new investigations, announced yesterday (2 December) evening, will look into whether reporting mechanisms for illegal content implemented by TikTok and LinkedIn are easy to access and user friendly, and whether the mechanisms allow users to anonymously report suspected child sexual abuse material (CSAM). In addition, the investigations will also probe whether the content reporting mechanisms “deceive” users from reporting potentially illegal material. The investigations materialised after CnaM began reviewing a number of online platforms last year to check their compliance under DSA’s Article 16. Article 16 concerns the ‘Notice and Action’ mechanisms which service providers are required to have in place to allow people to report content that they suspect to be illegal. A part of the article also regulates reporting CSAM. During its review, concerns

How LinkedIn Bios Can Open Doors for Immigrant Women | LBBOnline

This Giving Tuesday, New Women New Yorkers has called on professionals everywhere to donate something unexpected: their LinkedIn bios. For 10 years, New Women New Yorkers—a non-profit dedicated to helping immigrant women build meaningful careers and community in New York City–-has supported more than 2,000 women through workforce development, educational pathways, and storytelling programs. But the foundation of every strong career isn’t just experience. It’s a network. And the bigger your network, the more successful you are. That insight is the inspiration behind #DonateYourBio, a campaign from independent agency Terri & Sandy that flips LinkedIn’s self-promotional culture on its head. The initiative invites professionals to temporarily swap their LinkedIn headlines for one that spotlights immigrant women and encourages donations to fuel New Women New Yorkers’ mission, directing users to GiveToNWNY.org. In the week leading up to Giving Tuesday, the organisation and the agency have reached out–through paid and organic efforts to chief executives, business leaders and industry influencers urging them to join the effort. The campaign culminates in a coordinated LinkedIn takeover, where participants’ updated bios will create a wave of visibility and support for immigrant women across the platform. “This campaign uses LinkedIn in an unexpected way to spotlight

This simple three-question framework is going viral among young workers on LinkedIn for its clarity, long-term thinking, and ability to cut through emotional noise during tough career calls. The 10-10-10 rule helps professionals make decisions by asking how a choice will matter in 10 days, 10 months, and 10 years. New Delhi, UPDATED: Dec 2, 2025 15:42 IST Career confusion is almost a rite of passage for young professionals. Whether it’s deciding to switch jobs, negotiate a raise, say yes to a side project, or accept a leadership role, the pressure to choose “correctly” can be paralysing. In the middle of this confusion, a surprisingly simple decision-making tool is going viral across LinkedIn: the 10-10-10 rule. The technique is straightforward: for any major decision, ask yourself three questions. How will this matter in 10 days? How will this matter in 10 months? How will this matter in 10 years? It sounds almost too easy. But the structured timeline forces the mind to zoom out, balance emotion with logic, and reduce panic-driven overthinking. The 10-10-10 rule was originally created

Why LinkedIn Has Become the Primary Source for Passive Talent – Onrec

The world of recruiting is undergoing a quiet, tectonic shift, and at its epicentre is a single, unavoidable truth: the war for top talent is no longer being fought on job boards. It's being won in the subtle, nuanced world of passive candidate engagement, a landscape where LinkedIn is the undisputed sovereign. The modern recruiter's toolkit has evolved accordingly, now including sophisticated engagement platforms like https://www.linkedhelper.com/, designed to orchestrate the delicate art of the digital handshake. This is a fundamental reordering of the talent acquisition ecosystem, and it poses an existential question for the traditional job board. For decades, the recruiting model was simple and straightforward: a company had a need, they posted a job on a board, and they sifted through the resulting applications. It was a "post and pray" model, and it was effective, but only for attracting a specific type of candidate: the active job seeker. The brutal reality for HR managers in 2025 is that the best talent, the top 10-20% of professionals who can truly move the needle for their business, are almost never actively looking. They are "passive talent" employed, successful, and not scrolling through job listings on their lunch break. This makes the
