SEBI reclassifies REITs as equity related instruments – Law.asia

The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has released a circular reclassifying real estate investment trusts (REITs) as equity related instruments to enhance participation of mutual funds and specialised investment funds. Amendments to the SEBI (Mutual Funds) Regulations, 1996, take effect on 1 January 2026. However, infrastructure investment trusts are still classified as hybrid instruments for investment by mutual funds and specialised investment funds. Investments in REITs until 31 December 2025 by debt schemes of mutual funds and investment strategies of specialised investment funds will be grandfathered. This means these investments are exempt from amendments. However, the circular encourages asset management companies (AMCs) to divest REITs from debt scheme portfolios, considering market conditions, liquidity and the interest of investors. AMCs are also required to issue necessary addendums making changes in the scheme documents to comply with the reclassification, but they will not alter the fundamental attributes. The Association of Mutual Funds in India will include REITs in the classification list of scrips as per their market capitalisation, in accordance with the 27 June 2024 circular. Any inclusion of REITs in equity indices will be completed after 1 July 2026.

Women don fake mustaches in LinkedIn ‘gender bias’ fight – Canadian Affairs

Photo by Zulfugar Karimov on Pexels.com Read: 2 min Flipping their gender setting to “male” and even posting photos with fake mustaches, a growing number of women on LinkedIn have posed a provocative challenge to what they allege is an algorithmic bias on the platform. Last month, female users began claiming that adopting a male identity had dramatically boosted their visibility on the professional networking site, setting off a chain reaction. Women adopted male aliases — Simone became Simon — swapped their pronouns for he/him, and even deployed AI to rewrite old posts with testosterone-laden jargon to cultivate what they describe as an attention-grabbing alpha persona. To add a dash of humor, some women uploaded profile photos of themselves sporting stick-on mustaches. The result? Many women said their reach and engagement on LinkedIn soared, with once-quiet comment sections suddenly buzzing with activity. “I changed my pronouns and accidentally broke my own LinkedIn engagement records,” wrote London-based entrepreneur and investor Jo Dalton, adding that the change boosted her reach by 244 per cent. “So here I am, in a stick-on moustache, purely in the interest of science to see if I can trick the algorithm into thinking I am a man.”

A huge chunk of the internet went down for the second time in a month – Metro

A huge chunk of the internet went down for the second time in a month Sarah Hooper Published December 5, 2025 9:05am Updated December 5, 2025 1:39pm It comes weeks after another issue with Cloudflare (Picture: Getty) Internet users reported massive outages across platforms using Cloudflare, including Zoom, Canva, LinkedIn, and even DownDetector. Cloudflare provides services to major websites, including Discord, Notion, X, Spotify, Canva, GitHub, and Stack Overflow. Shopping sites are affected too – Shopify, Etsy, Wayfair, H&M, as well as some news media, including Politico, Axios, the BBC and more. Even Down Detector, the website which tracks internet and app outages, is experiencing issues. Cloudflare said shortly after 9am that it is investigating issues with Cloudflare Dashboard and related APIs (application programming interfaces)’. The software business said users have seen ‘a large number of empty pages’ as a result. It added shortly after that it has implemented a potential fix to the issue and is now monitoring the results. Cloudflare is a company that helps nearly two in 10 websites secure and manage their internet traffic. Many of the platforms that were knocked offline use those servers. Are you experiencing internet issues? Stay up to date with the stories everybody’s talking about by signing

Psychoanalyzing LinkedIn Warriors on Campus | Flyby – The Harvard Crimson

Imagine this: you’re having a peaceful morning grabbing breakfast at Berg while scrolling through your phone, but then you suddenly receive a LinkedIn notification: You have notifications from ____. Curious, you click on it, and see a classmate posted: I’m excited to share that I’ll be starting my position as an analyst intern at Goldman Sachs this summer! Let that sink in for a minute or two. You reread the post to make sure you read it right, then click on their bio: Harvard ’28 | CS + Econ | Passionate about Investment Banking. Open to chat! The sad truth is that a significantly large number of Harvard students are LinkedIn warriors. While you are trying to figure out the difference between Gov 10 and Gov 20 (answer: don’t take either), others are sliding into recruiter DMs, spam requesting connections until it reaches the maximum limit, and posting about how eating that ripe banana for dinner changed their life. Riveting stuff, really. And they are everywhere (both physically and on LinkedIn). You’ll see them comment their emails on internship opportunity posts, congratulating others on their accomplishments, and at every club event possible, resume in hand. So, how do you tell

Cloudflare outage hits sites such as Zoom, Fortnite, and LinkedIn. Here’s what we know

Published on 05/12/2025 - 11:08 GMT+1 •Updated 11:36 A Cloudflare outage hit websites including Zoom, Canva, and Fortnite on Friday, just weeks after the internet services provider suffered another major outage. The incident has affected many online services, underscoring that much of the internet is dependent on IT infrastructure from a handful of providers. Downdetector, a website that shows services affected by internet outages, reported issues across the web, including Canva, Zoom, Fortnite, League of Legends, Anthropic’s Claude AI chatbot, and LinkedIn. Cloudflare said it is experiencing "internal service degradation" on Friday morning, with internet users reporting that they were unable to access sites. "Cloudflare is investigating reports of a large number of empty pages when using the list API on a Workers KV namespace," the website read. "Cloudflare is investigating an increased level of errors for customers running Workers scripts. We are working to analyse and mitigate this problem." A similar issue occurred in October after Amazon Web Services (AWS) had a technical problem that caused issues for companies connecting to AWS's data services in the United States, impacting internet services worldwide. The recent AWS and Cloudflare outages highlight how heavily the internet depends on a small number of

Key events Show key events only Please turn on JavaScript to use this feature Jake Moore, global cybersecurity adviser at ESET, has summed up the problem: “If a major provider like Cloudflare goes down for any reason, thousands of websites instantly become unreachable. “The problems often lie with the fact we are using an old network to direct internet users around the world to websites but it simply highlights there is one huge single point of failure in this legacy design.” The
