#rto #amazon #talent | Business Insider | 18 comments – LinkedIn

Business Insider’s Post Amazon's five-day return-to-office policy may be restoring discipline, but it's costing the company in the war for tech talent. An internal document and accounts from Amazon insiders show that the company's aggressive in-office work policy and requirement to move near designated "hub" offices are hampering recruiting efforts. The hub strategy is listed as one of the "hotly debated topics" for Amazon's recruiters, as it is limiting the ability to hire "high-demand talent, like those with GenAI skills," according to the internal document from late last year, obtained by Business Insider. Some Amazon recruiters told Business Insider that, starting last year, they saw an increase in candidates declining job offers specifically because of RTO. Those people were open to lower pay from other companies in exchange for the flexibility to work remotely. Obama’s LinkedIn page now features Trump, Internet declares it ‘the greatest troll of all time’

Social media went into a frenzy after some users noticed something unusual on former President Barack Obama’s LinkedIn profile, a photo of Donald Trump showing up under his “Experience” section. Yes, you read that right. No, Obama has not become friends with Trump. The bizarre appearance is not his doing, it stems from LinkedIn’s handling of organisational profiles. Obama's LinkedIn page now has Trump on it after the WH changed its profile picture pic.twitter.com/DHxhc19fEs — End Wokeness (@EndWokeness) September 3, 2025 Since Obama’s profile lists ‘President of the United States at The White House’ as part of his experience, and the official White House LinkedIn page currently features Trump’s photo as its display image, it automatically comes under the position on Obama’s page. Trump and Obama’s recent interaction Despite their political rivalry, Trump and Obama shared a brief, surprisingly friendly moment earlier this year. The two were spotted chatting at former President Jimmy Carter’s funeral, a clip that also made rounds online. Commenting on the viral moment, Trump said, “I didn’t realize how friendly it looked,” adding, “We have a little different philosophies, right? But we probably do . I don’t know. We just got along.” ‘Greatest troll

LinkedIn’s first recruiting agent boosts impact: ‘It’s embedded in my hiring process now’

Access to AI-powered hiring tools is the #1 factor HR professionals say would make the hiring process easier Recruiters today are competing for both talent and for time. With application volumes surging and candidate expectations rising, the pressure to move fast and deliver hires without sacrificing quality is relentless.  Yet much of a recruiter’s day is still consumed by repetitive, time-intensive tasks that pull recruiters away from what matters most – building relationships and making great hires. For talent professionals, the question is no longer whether AI belongs in the process, but how it can be harnessed to remove friction and create space for more human, strategic work.  According to LinkedIn, recruiters are spending three to five hours a day reviewing applications, and 64% report that less than half of those applications meet all of the criteria listed. The need for smarter, more human-centred tools has never been clearer.  Access to AI-powered hiring tools is the #1 factor HR professionals (54%) in APAC say would make the hiring process easier, with nearly three-quarters (78%) saying AI makes it easier to find qualified candidates.  Enter Hiring Assistant, LinkedIn’s first AI agent. Built to reduce the administrative burden on recruiters, Hiring Assistant

25 tattoos in 24 years: ‘What were you thinking?’ – Itemlive

As someone with 25 tattoos at the ripe age of 24, I have gotten used to answering a variety of questions, but one question is consistent. “Are you going to regret them when you’re older?” Well, it’s hard to have regrets when we’re talking about something that is quite literally just skin deep, especially when I’ve always had much bigger issues to deal with. The reality is that I shouldn’t have lived this long. By my sophomore year of high school, I was a functioning alcoholic who was way too proud about somehow scoring a B on a math test while blackout drunk, and by the end of my junior year, I had a few suicide attempts under my belt. With that said, if I get the privilege of living long enough for my tattoos to be a little washed out and wrinkly, that’s a gift and a blessing that I refuse to allow to be disrespected by a simple dislike of how my artwork may age over decades. I’m 24 years old with 25 tattoos. Every line on my skin holds memories that help ground me in my existence. My tattoos are deeply personal to me and have more

ADVERSE PUBLICITY NOTICE – NAB News

Ordered by the Federal Court of Australia The Federal Court of Australia has ordered National Australia Bank Limited (NAB) and its wholly owned subsidiary AFSH Nominees Pty Ltd (AFSH) to publish this adverse publicity notice. On 13 August 2025, Justice Neskovcin of the Federal Court ordered NAB and AFSH to pay penalties totalling $15.5 million to the Commonwealth for failing to provide written response notices to customers’ hardship notices within the required time frame between November 2018 and October 2023. The failures by NAB and AFSH to provide written response notices concerned 282 hardship notices given by NAB customers and 63 hardship notices given by AFSH customers, being notices that those customers considered they were, or would be, unable to meet their obligations under a credit contract. The Court found that these failures by NAB and AFSH constituted breaches of section 72(4) of the National Credit Code, being Schedule 1 to the National Consumer Credit Protection Act 2009 (Cth). The Court ordered that NAB pay a penalty of $13 million, and AFSH pay a penalty of $2.5 million. The failures resulted (with a few limited exceptions) from the incorrect use by NAB staff of a particular functionality in its internal
