Uptown Social sued in hit-and-run of ‘Outer Banks’ actor – Post and Courier

File CHARLESTON — Nearly three years after a stand-in actor for the popular TV show "Outer Banks" was struck and killed by an accused drunken driver, Uptown Social has been looped into the fray for allegedly over-serving the suspect. Alexander "AJ" Dmitry Jennings, 22, died from injuries after two vehicles struck him and drove off on Sol Legare Road on James Island in the early-morning hours of July 5, 2022. Jennings, a New York native, had been a stand-in actor on Netflix's "Outer Banks," filmed in Charleston, according to prior reporting by The Post and Courier. Seventeen days after the fatal collision, Nicholas Ashton Virgil Price, then-22, turned himself in to authorities. He is accused of being the second driver to hit Jennings and allegedly did so while while intoxicated. He was released from jail on $75,000 bail the same day as his arrest. The driver who first struck Jennings, leaving him lying in the roadway, fled from the area, authorities said at the time. As of June 6, that driver had not been identified. Prior to the fatal collision, Virgil Price had allegedly attended a house party about a mile away, according to an arrest warrant affidavit. Then, he and others

Solutions Review Executive Editor Tim King offers commentary on LinkedIn’s AI framework and how it appears to be setting a new empathetic industry standard. While many tech companies have faced criticism for allowing AI deployment to outpace ethical considerations, LinkedIn has emerged as a powerful counter-example—a company that is not only integrating AI into its core products but doing so with a deep, principled commitment to fairness, inclusion, and human-centric outcomes . From workforce development to algorithmic transparency, LinkedIn is quietly building one of the most robust empathetic AI policy frameworks in the enterprise world. Their approach offers a living blueprint for organizations that want to reap the benefits of AI without undermining the dignity, agency, or trust of their users or workforce. A Commitment to Transparency by Default At the core of LinkedIn’s AI efforts is a high level of openness about where and how AI is used—particularly in its algorithmic recommendations that shape the job-seeking experience for millions. In a 2023 research paper titled Operationalizing AI Fairness, LinkedIn engineers laid out a formal framework for how to audit, monitor, and explain fairness across multiple dimensions—including race, gender, and socio-economic background. Rather than treat AI as a black box

The top 3 reasons employees would take a pay cut: LinkedIn – Becker’s Hospital Review

By: Kristin Kuchno 5 hours ago Most U.S. employees are unwilling to take a pay cut, but 4 in 10 active job seekers would accept one in exchange for greater flexibility, alignment and mobility, according to a June 5 LinkedIn News post. LinkedIn surveyed 8,311 U.S. professionals between March 22 and May 16. Among those actively looking for a new job, 42% said they would accept a pay cut if it was at an organization better aligned with their values. The same share said they would accept a lower salary for more opportunities to advance. Additionally, 41% of active job seekers said they would take the pay cut for more workplace flexibility. That was the top reason among nonactive job seekers, cited by 28% of respondents. A more reasonable workload and better workplace relationships were less common reasons. Next Up in Workforce Workplace incivility and bullying have persisted in healthcare since their uptick during the COVID-19 pandemic.  As the healthcare landscape continues… Healthcare gained 62,200 jobs in May, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. LinkedIn user claims Mumbai auto driver earns Rs 5-8 lakh a month using a simple trick: ‘Zero hassle’

The driver explained that he waits outside the consulate every day and offers bag storage services to 20–30 people. That means a daily income of Rs 20,000 to Rs 30,000 easily (Image source: Rahul Rupani/LinkedIn) Rahul Rupani, product leader at Lenskart, recently flagged the story of an autorickshaw driver in Mumbai who reportedly makes Rs 5 to 8 lakh per month and has also built a successful business, all without actually driving his vehicle. The business addresses an often-ignored but common problem: where can visa applicants keep their belongings when bags are strictly prohibited inside the US Consulate and no official storage facility is available nearby? “Thousands visit the consulate every day,” Rupani wrote in his now-viral shared post on LinkedIn. “I was outside the US Consulate this week for my visa appointment when security told me I couldn’t carry my bag inside. No lockers. No suggestions.” While he stood confused on the sidewalk, an autorickshaw driver waved him over and said, “Sir, bag de do. Safe rakhunga, mera roz ka hai. Rs 1,000 charge hai” (Sir, give me the bag. I’ll keep it safe. I do this daily. Just Rs 1,000). Though it may seem expensive, Rupani pointed out

LinkedIn ramps up video ad tools, launches First Impression ads and CTV upgrades for B2B

LinkedIn is expanding its video advertising capabilities with the launch of First Impression Ads, Reserved Ads and enhanced Connected TV (CTV) placements, aimed at helping B2B marketers break through attention barriers and drive sales. The formats were announced ahead of Cannes Lions, where LinkedIn is serving as the official LIONS B2B Partner and headlining the inaugural LIONS B2B Summit. The moves come as B2B marketers increasingly embrace video and creator partnerships to compete for shrinking audience attention. First Impression Ads are a new vertical, full-screen format designed for single-day campaigns, appearing as the first ad a member sees on LinkedIn. Reserved Ads, meanwhile, allow brands to secure premium feed placement in advance for sponsored content, such as Thought Leader Ads, to maximise reach and control over timing. Both formats will roll out globally later this year. LinkedIn is also enhancing its CTV ad product, offering improved targeting, premium reach, and more robust analytics. The company says its CTV inventory is over four times more effective than linear TV in reaching B2B audiences, citing iSpot measurement data. The expansion builds on LinkedIn’s strategy to help advertisers reach the platform’s 1.2 billion members and 69 million listed companies across both on- and
