US and ‘Five Eyes’ allies warn of LinkedIn China spying threat

The US and its “Five Eyes” intelligence partners issued what they said was an unprecedented joint notice warning about attempts by Chinese spies to use websites such as LinkedIn to recruit assets. “China’s military intelligence services are using an increasingly wide array of professional networking sites and online job platforms to target Five Eyes government and military personnel – and anyone with access to classified or privileged information,” according to a joint statement by the FBI, Britain’s MI5 security service and the domestic intelligence agencies of Australia, Canada and New Zealand. “These actors use an aggressive online recruitment strategy whereby intelligence officers or their affiliates pose as employees of private consultancies, think tanks or human resources firms, and place online job advertisements for foreign policy and defence analysts,” the agencies said. The warning illustrates continued concern about Chinese spying among the US and its allies despite efforts by the countries to improve ties with Beijing in recent months. US President Donald Trump met Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping in Beijing last month and Britain’s top diplomat, Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper, has visited the country this week. Xi Jinping gives Donald Trump an ‘extremely rare’ private tour of Beijing’s Zhongnanhai “China’s military

DoubleVerify Holdings Investment Narrative Recap To own DoubleVerify, you need to believe its independent verification will stay essential as ad dollars flow into closed ecosystems and new formats like CTV and B2B social. The LinkedIn Audience Network integration modestly supports this by tightening DV’s grip on premium B2B inventory, but the biggest near term swing factor remains how digital ad budgets hold up, while a key risk is DV’s reliance on ongoing access to large platforms’ data and inventory. The most relevant recent announcement alongside the LinkedIn news is DV’s January launch of Authentic

#layoffs #jobmarket #careeradvice #metalayoffs | Business Insider – LinkedIn

Business Insider’s Post Brittney Ball didn't anticipate being unemployed for over a year after her layoff at Meta. She assumed that, coming from Meta with her skillset, there's no way she'd be searching for long. She underestimated the job market. She got hired in 2020 as a documentation engineer and served as the global head of the Black@Pride ERG. Since her layoff in February 2025, she's created alternative forms of income, but she's still applying for full-time work. Her advice for people in the most recent round of Meta layoffs is to budget like you're going to be unemployed for the next year, downsize, and create an action plan now. "I could've saved myself a lot of grief if I knew just how unforgiving the job market can be," she said. Business Insider’s Post Jordan Gaston's mom had been complaining about cleaning out her email inbox. That's when he realized he could probably build something that would help. It was 2020, and Gaston and David Emelianov were roommates both working in tech. Gaston showed Emelianov a demo and explained what he was working on. Emelianov quickly started working on top of what Gaston built, and then they decided to work together on the project. When they started looking into selling the app last year, they were at $232,000 in monthly recurring revenue. At the end of last year, they sold the app for over $4 million, and did it all while keeping their full-time jobs — with the help of AI. Archana Solanki decodes the moments that define Trump's Presidency.  Like Comment Transcript Whether or not the Iran conflict ends soon, one thing is for sure. The list of countries in Trump's crosshairs is only growing, and Oman is the latest edition. Earlier this week, Trump warned he would blow up Oman if it tries to control the state of farmers along with Iran. With that, Oman became at least the 15th country and the 5th in West Asia that Trump has either targeted militarily, left the door open to striking, or threatened during his two terms as president. As per CNN report, that's one out of every 13 countries in the world. These countries are home to one out of every 11 people on the planet. The report also notes that Trump's military actions and warnings have touched four of the world 6 populous continents, Africa, Asia, North America and South America. But each case is different.
