Artist Profile: ConnorEatsPants on Political Humor and Absurd Celebrity Cameos | Arts

What do Lil Pump, Elmo, and George Santos have in common? They have all been interviewed by ConnorEatsPants, of course. The unusually named Twitch streamer/YouTuber/X influencer has charmed thousands with his signature “dry attitude” and willingness to mock the powers-that-be. He plays video games for a living, yet describes himself as “not actually good” at them. Suffice it to say, he contains multitudes. Connor’s content journey began when he started making “sketch comedy videos” with his friends in about 2007. He opened the account for his current channel, ConnorEatsPants, between 2014 and 2015. Its unorthodox title was inspired by a beloved Nickelodeon show. “There’s an episode of ‘iCarly’ where they tell the teacher that he eats pants, and I was like, ‘Okay, well, I’ll just do that,’” Connor said. “I wasn’t really thinking much about it. In hindsight, I probably would have done something different, but it worked out. It’s easy to remember.” A notable turning point in his career was the first time he appeared on camera — an event colloquially known online as a “face reveal.” “I first showed my face like 2019, later that year,” Connor said. “That was the year that things kind of took off

Democrats fighting over Hasan Piker face accusations of falling into a Republican trap

As the multi-day Democratic Party fight over association with Twitch streamer Hasan Piker continues, the party’s progressive flank and even some centrists fume that party leadership has once again lost the plot. Just under a dozen members of the party’s elected officials in Washington have made statements condemning Piker in the past week over two individual comments Piker made on-stream about the September 11 attacks and the backlash against Jewish supporters of Israel, both of which he argues are being taken wildly out of context. House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries pledged in an interview this week to “continue” speaking out about Piker and comments he claimed were antisemitic. At the same time, Piker remains a popular figure among younger Democrats and those Democratic candidates who’ve been supported by the left-wing pundit have firmly refused to back away from him, denouncing the criticism as dishonest smears. Piker himself has denied charges of anti-Semitism, and apologized for offending viewers with his remarks about 9/11. All of this is occurring under the spectacle of a national media frenzy surrounding Piker and the Democratic Socialists of America, whom journalists have made the focus of their questions to Democrats of all stripes. And some Democrats

Teacher who sent explicit photos to teenage boy on Snapchat banned – The Independent

An assistant headteacher at a primary school who was caught sending explicit pictures of himself to a teenage boy on Snapchat said he “craved attention” as a “sexual thrill”, a tribunal heard. Ross Bullen admitted to regularly swapping explicit pictures with thousands of people on the disappearing messaging app while a primary school teacher at Priory Rise School, Milton Keynes. The 38-year-old, who said the sex chats made him feel “wanted” and “confident”, was barred from teaching for at least two years after a Teaching Regulation Agency (TRA) panel found he brought the profession into disrepute. Giving evidence, Mr Bullen, who denied ever sharing the images with the teenager (dubbed person A), described himself as “stupid”, “reckless” and “foolish” for engaging in risky online behaviour. “I can see it was really questionable, it is regrettable. I should have behaved differently,” he said. The tribunal heard Mr Bullen sent six unsolicited images “in various states of undress” from a bedroom or bathroom to person A around March and May 2023. Pennsylvania Went Undercover on Snapchat. Here’s What a “13-Year-Old” Account Found.

Pennsylvania AG’s undercover Snapchat probe, filed August 25 in Philadelphia, targets the app’s 13+ rating as legally false A new iPhone. A fake birthday. A Snapchat account set up to mimic a 13-year-old. Within the normal flow of the app — no hacking, no workarounds — an investigator from Pennsylvania’s Office of Attorney General documented cannabis rolling videos, someone mixing and drinking spirits on camera, captions using opioid-related slang, and paid ads for a streaming service carrying explicit sexual clips. These findings raise serious child safety concerns that echo industry-wide debates over age verification and platform accountability. That account became the backbone of a lawsuit filed August 25, 2026 , in Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas. What the “13-Year-Old” Account Actually Saw The gap between Snap’s self-reported content labels and what the test account actually encountered is the factual heart of the case. When Snap lists Snapchat on Apple’s App Store, it answers a content-rating questionnaire in its own words. The result: a 13+ rating describing “infrequent/mild” sexual content, drug and alcohol references, and mature themes. Google Play and Microsoft’s store carry a matching “T for Teen.” All three ratings reflect Snap’s self-reported disclosures. The complaint argues “frequent” exposure directly

Pat Murphy has benched players before, but Cooper Pratt’s was different

Aug. 26, 2026, 6:09 p.m. CT NEW YORK – Pat Murphy, the distributor of nicknames in the Milwaukee Brewers clubhouse, has a moniker in mind that he doesn’t want to go by.  “I’m not trying to be Johnny Hardass,” Murphy said from his office at Citi Field before his team’s game against the New York Mets on Aug. 26.  Outside the doors of the visiting clubhouse across the hall from him, that is indeed his reputation to some, further cemented by his mid-game benching of rookie shortstop Cooper Pratt the night prior. After failing to get a bunt down before a blooper to right in his next at-bat where Pratt took 5.8 seconds to get to first base and didn't try to stretch it into a double, Murphy immediately removed him from the game, a swift decision that had far more layers to it than just that play. It wasn’t the first time Murphy has sat a young Brewers player on the pine – ask Sal Frelick or Caleb Durbin or Tobias Myers or Brandon Sproat or Robert Gasser – but it was the largest spectacle of any of the mid-game yankings yet.   » Read More

Meta reaches $18 billion settlement over teen social media addiction – AP News

OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) — Meta agreed Wednesday to pay up to $18 billion and add stronger child-safety measures to its Facebook and Instagram platforms as part of a landmark legal settlement that ended a trial over teen social media addiction and settled claims filed by nearly every state. The settlement resolved a pivotal case years in the making that sought to hold the tech giant accountable for the role its platforms played in undermining children’s mental health. The effort targeted features designed to hook young people’s attention. The agreement “institutes real change, real transparency, real protections for children and teens across the country,” California Attorney General Rob Bonta said. If approved by the court, the deal will stop an avalanche of litigation by states against Meta, although the company still faces lawsuits from individuals and school districts throughout the U.S. For the states, the settlement delivers money for mental-health programs for kids, including after-school or summer activities and digital literacy counselors. Advocates cheered the new protections, including default time limits and the disabling of features such as “like” counts. But “we cannot truly protect all children and teens until these protections are required on every platform and are permanent —
