Why employers can no longer trust an old LinkedIn job title – HRD America

Recruitment Is 'time travel' being used to try to fool you? Check a candidate's LinkedIn profile today, and it's tempting to assume a job they held five years ago reads the same way it did back then. New research says that's often not true, and what's changing tells you a lot about where the job market is headed. A working paper out of Stanford University and workforce data firm Revelio Labs, released through the National Bureau of Economic Research this July, finds that nearly one in five established U.S. LinkedIn users, 19.7%, have gone back and edited the title or description of a job they'd already left. Researchers Nicholas Bloom, Gideon Moore, Lisa K. Simon and Caelan Wilkie-Rogers call it "time travel": rewriting the past to fit the present. This isn't someone fixing a typo the week after starting a new job. The median edit happens more than four years after a person has left the role, long after the actual work has stopped changing. What's different isn't the job. It's how people choose to talk about it, after the fact. What people are adding, and what they're dropping The researchers tracked how language tied to three in-demand skill areas moved through

— August 26, 2026 — ClubGrub, a leading food and beverage ordering platform built specifically for golf clubs and hospitality properties, today announced the launch of its new web-based ordering solution, expanding the ways members and guests can access mobile ordering throughout a property. The new web-based experience allows customers to scan a QR code and immediately begin ordering from their phone—no app download required. It can also be embedded directly within a property's existing club or community app, giving operators the flexibility to offer ClubGrub wherever and however their members and guests prefer to order. The new solution complements ClubGrub's existing mobile app, which continues to provide additional capabilities and a richer experience for members who regularly order from a property. “There's no single right way for everyone to order,” said Spencer Potter, Founder and CEO of ClubGrub. “Our mobile app delivers a great experience for members who use it regularly, but we wanted to give properties another powerful way to make ordering available to everyone. Hoos Ready to Get Ball Rolling – Virginia Cavaliers Official Athletic Site

By Jeff White (jwhite@virginia.edu)VirginiaSports.com CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. — Much has changed in both football programs since Sept. 6, 2025, when NC State edged visiting Virginia 35-31 at Carter-Finley Stadium. Players have transferred in. Others have transferred out. Freshmen have arrived, and older players have exhausted their college eligibility. All of which makes preparing for a season opener no easy feat in an era marked by prolific roster turnover. “It is challenging,” UVA head coach Tony Elliott said Tuesday at the Hardie Center. “I just got done talking with offense, defense, special teams, just about my thoughts on personnel. And it's difficult because there's a lot of guys that you know are good players, but you don't have enough film to validate it, because they're moving from place to place, and tracking down that film is very difficult. “So it does pose some additional challenges. But I think the biggest thing with any opener is, you’ve got to focus more on what you do and ... things that you see throughout the course of camp. A beautiful thing about where we are from a team is, what we do offensively is going to prepare our defense for pretty much

Sectors Representing a Third of the S&P 500’s Value Produced Just 7 Percent of LinkedIn’s …

Nashville, TN, Aug. 25, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- C-Suite Stack, a digital communications firm that builds thought leadership for executives, today announced findings from its analysis of the 150 honorees named to LinkedIn's May 2026 and August 2026 US Top Voices cohorts. The central finding is a visibility gap measured against the market itself: the sectors that make up roughly a third of the S&P 500's value — industrials, energy, utilities, consumer staples and discretionary, materials, and real estate — produced 10 of the 150 honorees. Across LinkedIn's published topic tags for the full list, "Energy and utilities" appears once. Each dot is one of the 150 honorees in LinkedIn's 2026 US Top Voices cohorts. The ten in gold come from physical economy sectors, which hold roughly a third of the S&P 500's value but produced just 7 percent of honorees. (Graphic: C-Suite Stack) Key Findings Sectors representing roughly a third of the S&P 500's market value produced 10 of 150 honorees (6.7 percent). These include industrials (5 honorees), consumer and retail (4), and energy and utilities (1), with none identified from materials, real estate, logistics, hospitality, or quick-service restaurants. Media, marketing, and careers commentary account for roughly 35 percent

I Like Your Shoelaces | Know Your Meme

Navigation About • Origin • Spread • Various Examples • Related Memes • Search Interest • External References • Recent Images About I Like Your Shoelaces is a catchphrase and Tumblr meme used as a covert way for users to identify fellow Tumblr users in real life or on other platforms. The expected response to the phrase is "Thanks, I stole them from the president," which serves as a reference confirming the speaker's familiarity with Tumblr culture. After appearing in 2012, the phrase became closely associated with Tumblr's early-2010s culture and was later revived through increased interest in Tumblr nostalgia. As the site's older memes and trends became subjects of nostalgic discussion, I Like Your Shoelaces came to be referenced ironically as a relic of Tumblr's past. By the 2020s, the exchange was generally regarded as one of the more dated and particularly cringeworthy examples of Tumblr culture, often invoked ironically to parody the site's earlier community norms. Notably, the secret phrase is similar to The Narwhal Bacons at Midnight, which is a similar coded catchphrase created in 2009 for Redditors to identify themselves in public places. Origin Although the original post that began the exchange has since been deleted

How SubwayTakes turned vertical video into Emmy-nominated television – YouTube Blog

Kareem Rahma on treating ordinary people like celebrities and bypassing industry gatekeepers. Aug 24, 2026 ] minute read Listen to article Your browser does not support the audio element. Producer, comedian, poet, indie rock musician: Kareem Rahma will try his hand at almost anything. Except, that is, chasing perfection. For Rahma, the solution to creative paralysis is moving fast and using what’s right there in front of you. As he explains it, “doing what’s right right now.” That mindset was the foundation for creating SubwayTakes. Shot entirely on moving train cars with cinema-grade rigs, the popular comedy show puts everyday New Yorkers and A-list guests in the hot seat to argue their weirdest, most passionate takes. Despite launching on YouTube without studio backing, Rahma recently earned a Primetime Emmy nomination for Outstanding Short Form Series — a landmark recognition for a creator-led show. We caught up with Kareem to discuss creative constraints, legacy media and what, exactly, is right for him right now. I have to ask, how often in these interviews are you asked ‘What’s your take?’ Kareem: 90% of the time, but I usually decline. That said, I have a good one today. They should standardize sizing across
