LeBron James Launches YouTube Golf Channel — Watch Trailer (Exclusive)

Forget Philly, LeBron James is taking his talents to YouTube. James, the NBA’s all-time leading scorer, is launching a YouTube Golf channel “chronicling his journey with the sport,” The Hollywood Reporter has learned. The name of the YouTube Channel will simply be “LeBron James.” “LeBron and his friends will play a round at some of the world’s greatest golf courses, dine at local restaurants and have a little fun while enjoying everything the game of golf has to offer,” THR is told. If you simply can’t wait a minute longer for such content, well, we’ve got more good news for you. The channel launched timed to the publication of this story; its debut episode “follows James and members of the storied 2016 Cleveland Cavaliers championship team as they celebrate the 10-year anniversary of their historic comeback that brought the franchise its first title.” James, Kevin Love, J.R. Smith, Richard Jefferson, Tristan Thompson, Channing Frye and famously not Kyrie Irving picked a great place to start: Castle Stuart Golf Links at Cabot Highlands in Scotland. There, the “reminiscing, wine and hilarious commentary are flowing,” according to the episodic description. “I’m looking forward to people seeing this first episode, which was the trip

Can’t Go Viral? X Reveals Its Inner Workings in GitHub Release – PCMag Australia

X has changed pretty radically since the days when it was known as Twitter, after it was acquired by Elon Musk in 2022, with many leaving for greener pastures at different social media platforms amid the shifting tone of the site. X has now open-sourced much of its code, which could make many elements of how its algorithm works much less mysterious. Earlier this week, the company made the source code for its "For You" timeline available on GitHub under the Apache v2 license. This means you can see the how and why behind certain posts appearing near the top of your feed when you open the app, and others not. In an interview with TechCrunch, which covered the release, X's VP of Product Keith Coleman explained how the GitHub release includes "the core ranking code that pulls posts and ranks them for any given user and assembles the feed." The code repository contains the systems used to filter out potentially problematic, rule-violating content, according to Coleman. X is also testing tools that will allow users to see how X's algorithms impact their own posts. If you want to access the tool, head to the Under the Hood page directly

Youth knife crime: ‘We are two or three Snapchat messages away from a fatality’ | STV News

“We are two or three Snapchat messages away from a fatality.” That’s the assessment from Glasgow youth workers, who say Scotland is “years behind” the curve in tackling teenage violence. Community development worker Jamie O’Neill began working with youngsters in the Kingsway area of Glasgow several years ago. His organisation was recently forced to suspend youth work temporarily after he was injured while attempting to intervene in a dispute. Jamie believes social media has accelerated youth violence in recent years, with teenagers participating in group chats involving more than 100 people from across Glasgow. He says speaking directly to vulnerable young people remains the best way of understanding what’s unfolding on the ground. ‘We’re way behind’ STV News Youth worker Jamie O’Neill STV News He argues agencies are “way behind” in understanding the role technology now plays in fuelling disputes. “Social media is hugely important. If something is shared, we’ll find information quicker through a young person rather than an agency. “There’s pressure to stay in the group chat and play up. “What you’re seeing in the group chat you think is real. ‘I’m going to get you tomorrow after school’, ‘maybe I should take a knife with me?’ They’re
