DANIEL LEE HALL (Vanderburgh County Jail) According to the Evansville Police Department, investigators responded to a report of a minor being raped. The victim told police the assault happened at an abandoned home, and that she went to get help. Investigators said the victim told them she met Hall on Snapchat, and they had only met in person once before the alleged assault. The victim also told police that Hall lied about his age and claimed to be 17. EPD investigators said the victim received a sexual assault examination at a hospital, and her phone was collected as evidence. After Hall was taken into custody, police obtained a DNA sample from him. After police read Hall his rights, they said he requested an attorney, so investigators did not question him. Hall was booked into the Vanderburgh County Jail. Copyright 2026 WFIE. All rights reserved.

These pages and individual creators posted content that appeared to be in clear violation of Facebook’s own hate speech policies. Nonetheless, they were able to earn money on their posts through the platform’s “Content Monetization” program — which is invitation-only. One receiving payouts from Meta was Hugo Lennon, a known far-right agitator and white nationalist with ties to neo-Nazi groups. Lennon was taken away by police for hurling racial abuse at India’s prime minister Narendra Modi during his stay at a Melbourne hotel, and is believed to be one of the organizers behind an “anti-immigration” march on a sacred Indigenous site in the city last year. Lennon, in other words, was a known quantity, and Meta should’ve been under no illusions about who they were paying to drive engagement on the platform. » Read More

A new horror short has debuted online after playing at festivals that's worth a watch. Death Red is a 12-minute horror short film made by filmmaker Mitch Glass, his latest creation for the horror community (he also made the shorts Box 616 and Canary which we've featured previously). "This horror is scripted. Your goosebumps are not." Death Red premiered at the 2025 Sitges Film Festival last year and played at many others. Originally sold in the 1960s as Scarlet Secret, the paint later dubbed "Death Red" was outlawed in 1984 after it was discovered to contain the remains of victims murdered by Richard Barkner, a respected paint manufacturer who used his company, Barkner Paints, to conceal his crimes. Legend warns that using it and uttering the phrase "open their eyes" will awaken the trapped souls within. When young artist Claire acquires a forgotten can, she believes it will fuel her next masterpiece. Starring Kelsey Tuma as Claire. They shot this in only 2 days!
