The Tennessee Titans were busy in free agency once again on Tuesday, this time coming to terms on a contract agreement with cornerback Janoris Jenkins. The financial details and length of the pact are still unknown. Earlier in the day, the Titans made two surprising moves with the release of cornerback Adoree’ Jackson and right tackle Dennis Kelly, so bringing Jenkins aboard amounts to an answer for the former move. While Jenkins wasn’t the big splash we were expecting, the 32-year-old veteran corner is a good fit in Tennessee, as he excels in man coverage. He also posted impressive coverage numbers in 2020, allowing a completion rate of 58.8 percent and a QB rating of 81.8 when targeted. He stands to take over one of the two vacated starting spots on the boundary in 2021. Here’s a look at how Twitter reacted to the news. According to @ESPNStatsInfo the #Titans were in man coverage 48% of the time last season. While in man, they gave up 28 TD passes. That's the 2nd most in the NFL. They're expecting Janoris Jenkins who has primarily been a man CB throughout his career to help improve that number. — TURRON DAVENPORT (@TDavenport_NFL) March…

Instagram is introducing new policies limiting interactions between teenagers and adults to make its platform safer for young users. The app has banned adults from direct messaging teenagers who don’t follow them and is introducing “safety prompts” that will be shown to teens when they DM adults who have been “exhibiting potentially suspicious behavior.” Safety prompts will give teenage users the option to report or block adults who are messaging them. The prompts will remind young users not to feel pressured to respond to messages and to “be careful sharing photos, videos, or information with someone you don’t know.” Notices will appear when Instagram’s moderation systems spot suspicious behavior from adult users. The company is not sharing detail on how these systems operate but says such suspicious behavior could include sending “a large amount of friend or message requests to people under 18.” The Facebook-owned Instagram says this feature will be available in some countries this month (it did not specify which) and available globally “soon.” New safety prompts will appear when teens DM adults who have exhibited “suspicious behavior.” Image: Instagram Instagram also says it’s developing new “artificial intelligence and machine learning technology” to try and detect someone’s age…

Man starting an online job search. getty As I advised a career counseling client yesterday, I was surprised that this baby boomer was looking for jobs on the wrong websites. Teresa said, “I’m just not seeing much, but I guess that Covid has limited the job opportunities.” She hadn’t looked for a new job in over ten years, and some of the sites she used before were not popular anymore for a good reason - things have changed a lot since her last search. Teresa was not looking at the best online job listing sites to uncover good professional-level job openings. We spent the next 15 minutes discussing vital job search strategies and where she should be looking to locate job openings. Whether you are a Millennial, Xer, or a Boomer, you may not be using the most effective job search strategy to uncover opportunities. Most people use online sites to conduct their job searches. That would be unwise. The most effective strategy is to use networking. Many jobs are never advertised on the big sites, so be sure you are proactive and network. The efforts by Amazon and Facebook may have come up short in part because they were relatively new to the Washington influence game. While these two companies were starting to spend on lobbying, Google already had a heavy presence in D.C. and allies in the Obama administration. But the failure to provoke a federal crackdown on Google also contained a long-term benefit for Amazon and Facebook: Washington's reluctance to battle alleged tech monopolists postponed the two companies' own turns in the antitrust spotlight. Facebook's and Amazon's public silence about their complaints could have been an effort to avoid drawing attention to their burgeoningempires, said Yelp public policy chief Luther Lowe, a Google critic who spoke to FTC staffers multiple times during the probe. Facebook: The Google+ network and phone wars Google’s fledgling social network, Google+, had about 500 million users in 2012 compared with more than 1 billion people on Facebook. (Facebook now has an estimated 2.8 billion users worldwide.) But Facebook said the new upstart had an unfair advantage: Google had structured its search website so that users would see links to Google+ profiles before those from networks like Facebook and Twitter.  » Read More
