EAU CLAIRE — UW-Eau Claire students peacefully protested Thursday afternoon in response to recent racist Snapchat posts and to demand more accountability going forward from university officials. The student-led demonstrations began with a gathering in Schofield Auditorium to discuss how to make campus safer and more welcoming for people of color. That was followed by a sit-in in the hallway outside Chancellor James Schmidt’s office and students delivering letters to the chancellor’s office. Nearly identical plans are in place for a Friday afternoon demonstration.COVID-19 contact tracing protocols were in place, and students wore masks and stayed physically distanced. Hand sanitizer was available, and auditorium seats were disinfected after the gathering. The demonstrations occurred in the wake of racist Snapchat posts allegedly made by a student last week. The posts, which surfaced on social media, were titles of the student’s Snapchat stories. The titles included an emoji reference insinuating the N-word and language about George Floyd, a Black man who was killed last May after a Minneapolis police officer knelt on his neck for nearly nine minutes. The student’s story was at one point titled “George Floyd’s Breathing Tips.”The student did not respond to multiple interview requests from the Leader-Telegram.About 40 students sat…

'Fresh' Instagram @Dua Lipa Dua wasn’t always confident in her music either, she had doubts about several of her songs, but her crew assured her that it sounded good and that it would perform well on the music charts. “I was worried that ‘Don’t Start Now’ was too Euro-disco and wouldn’t work at U.S. radio. And Mike Chester, at Warner Records, said, ‘Don’t worry: The whole reason I love this song is that it’s fresh, and it’s going to change the face of U.S. radio.’” Load Comments

Why is everyone wearing the same beanie on my Instagram feed?Over the past several months, I have watched this $16.99, no-frills hat from the workwear brand Carhartt, known best for providing coveralls and jackets for farmers and other laborers, become the It accessory, adorning the heads of influencers, normal people, and babies alike.I first noticed the beanie, which I will call the Hat, on influencers as temperatures began to drop across the US. Once I noticed it, I saw it everywhere. Influencers like Hollie Woodward (1 million followers) wear the Hat, and so do her three daughters, all in matching pink. Several babies wear the Hat for their monthly Instagram posts, the beanie becoming tighter as they grow. Moms-to-be position the Hat above a onesie or pair of overalls to announce their pregnancies. Even the store Buy Buy Baby recently featured a baby wearing the Hat on its feed. Soon, the Hat started appearing on the heads of babies I actually knew on my personal Instagram, matching with their moms. In the real world, I started spotting it on the heads of people I saw on the street when out running errands. As the weeks went by, I saw it…

YouTube users on iPhone or iPad can again access picture-in-picture mode on all browsers when visiting the video-sharing mobile site when running the recent iOS 14.5 beta. The ability was last working with the iOS 14.0.1 update but was limited to Apple’s own Safari browser. The iOS 14.5 beta update rolled out just a few days ago – our colleagues over at 9to5Mac have done a deep dive into all of the new additions – but this very specific feature is usually reserved for YouTube Premium subscribers. Just like on Android, picture-in-picture mode — using the mobile site workaround — was only available to those with a YouTube Premium account for some time on iOS. Another notable is that YouTube Premium costs $11.99 per month in the US, but due to Apple’s App Store 30% commission policies, you’ll pay $15.99 if you sign up on an iOS device through the app. The YouTube app on iOS does not yet support picture-in-picture mode, with the only workaround being via the mobile site in a browser. We have seen this feature removed several times before, which does lead us to wonder why this feature has returned in the iOS 14.5 beta. It’s…

#1 Nuitari Nuitari Members 1 posts OFFLINE   Local time:02:40 PM Posted Today, 03:35 AM Any updates on this? It's 2021 and I have the same problem. Disabling selective suspend, power management and driver updates didn't help. Windows 10. My USB mouse disconnects/reconnects/stutters when I watch a video (YouTube or Netflix) AND use my bluetooth headset at the same time. The RGB light on the mouse flickers at random intervals every couple of seconds as well, so I can see something is wrong even before the mouse disconnects. It happens since the mouse hangs on a powered USB hub, on any port of the hub. Same with a different non-powered hub. It doesn't happen when plugged directly into the computer on the same port as the hub. Edited by Nuitari, Today, 03:37 AM.
