Summit1g Shuts Down Rumors of Him Quitting Twitch

Jaryd ‘summit1g’ is one of the biggest names on Twitch without a doubt. He has over five million followers and an audience that doesn’t miss a single stream. So when a clip started making the rounds saying summit1g was quitting Twitch to make a video game, that obviously had people riled up. But don’t you worry, it wasn’t exactly taken in the proper context. Summit1g’s not going anywhere. Why would he give up that kind of following and income? As a former CSGO pro, Summit1g again has an absolutely massive following. He no doubt makes a very comfortable living on Twitch, so why would he stop? The clip, without any context says he (summit1g) is quitting Twitch to make a video game. Honestly? A shooter or something from someone with his level of experience would be ground-breaking. In the video, Summit1g said the following: “I have decided that I am going to end my contract with Twitch and take on the next chapter of my life, which is making a video game. So, I’m out.” Summit1g looks very serious about quitting Twitch in the clip. Clips are very short though, so you miss the greater context. After the clip, Summit1g starts laughing about it. Ending his streaming career would just make zero sense. On Twitter, a response was penned to people taking this as anything other than a goof: I’m surprised so many ppl fell for an out of context clip of me quitting streaming. It was a joke, not stopping anytime soon if it’s up to me. Just wanted to clear that up in case ppl come to my twitter worried lol.— summit1g (@summit1g) November 19, 2020 “I’m surprised so many ppl fell for an out of context clip of me quitting streaming. Biden taps Facebook executive for White House role as big tech infiltrates transition

President-elect Joe Biden is busy hiring staffers for his transition team and his administration, including some individuals with ties to the country’s largest technology companies.Biden named Louisa Terrell the White House director of legislative affairs Friday. Terrell is a former member of the Obama administration, though she also served in a senior position at Facebook.Biden last week announced members of the agency review teams, which include a number of individuals who worked for big technology companies ranging from Uber to Amazon.Former Apple lobbyist Cynthia Hogan is working full-time for the administration, as is Jessica Hertz, who worked for Facebook.BIDEN TRANSITION TEAM LEANS ON LEFT-WING GROUPS FOR STAFF: REPORTLawmakers, especially the more progressive members of the Democratic Party, have criticized the country’s largest technology companies throughout recent years, over concerns ranging from anticompetitive behaviors to censorship.Progressives including Sens. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., and Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., have advocated breaking up companies like Google and Amazon over their alleged monopolistic practices, said to limit the ability of others in their respective industries to compete.Big tech concerns, however, are shared by lawmakers on both sides of the aisle. Biden’s position on big tech is less well-known. He has said he would repeal Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act (CDA), which protects companies like YouTube and Twitter from liability for most content posted on their sites by third-party users even though the companies themselves generally oversee that content.Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., reportedly said she is concerned about the influence big tech – specifically Uber – may have on the administration, following the defeat of Proposition 22 in California. Prop 22 would have required companies in the gig economy to reclassify independent contractors as employees with benefits. As previously reported by Fox News, the Biden-Harris team also is leaning on left-wing philanthropic groups for staffers as it prepares to take over the Oval Office.CLICK HERE TO…

DrLupo announces all Twitch tips will be donated to charity

Entertainment Published: 21/Nov/2020 1:25 by Alex Tsiaoussidis DrLupo Benjamin ‘DrLupo’ Lupo is no stranger to philanthropy, but now he’s kicked it to a whole new level and decided to donate all future tips on his Twitch channel to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Popular streamers are widely considered to be a force for good. They entertain the masses and create tight-knit communities, and some have even made an effort to give something back. Iman ‘Pokimane’ Anys, who was named the highest-earning female streamer this year, capped her donations to five dollars and urged fans to support other causes with the excess.  Felix ‘PewDiePie’ Kjellberg did something similar. Initially, he turned off donations completely. But then he had an even better idea. He turned them back on and started donating them all to charity. Now, DrLupo is doing the same. The 33-year-old American Twitch star has been one of the platform’s most philanthropic streamers. In 2018, he raised more than one million dollars for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Then, less than a year later, he doubled that and raised over two million dollars in a 24-hour stream.  Now, he’s at it again.  DrLupoDrLupo is one of the most charitable and philanthropic Twitch streamers in the world. DrLupo is hosting yet another Build Against Cancer stream. It’s happening between December 19 and December 20, and all donations will go to the same cause. Read more: DrLupo condemns claims his Twitch community is toxic In addition, people can also buy an official t-shirt, with all proceeds donated to the cause. The sale numbers alone have already raised around $20,000, and it’s only going up. Design By Humans / DrLupoBuild Against Cancer T-Shirts are selling like hot-cakes. 'Supernatural' didn't last 15 years on 'brotherly love' or even Dean and Cas chemistry, here's why it …

According to the creator Eric Kripke, EP Robert Singer, and writer and EP Andrew Dabb in the TV special 'Supernatural: The Long Road Home', the reason for the longevity of the show is the "brotherly bond" between Sam and Dean. For some, especially the young LGBTQ Tumblr fandom who championed Destiel, it was the chemistry between Dean and Cas -- the boy and the angel who would always watch over him. Neither, however, is the actual reason why the show survived so long. Instead, the reason why the show survived this long exists outside the show itself – in all the "extra-curricular'" activities that the actors and crew got up to. The first Creation Entertainment convention for Supernatural happened in 2006. Before that, from Season 1 itself, the season-end "bloopers gag reel" was established as a thing. In 2011, Misha Collins began the GISHWHES -- The Greatest International Scavenger Hunt the World Has Ever Seen, to encourage intense participation and investment of emotion, time, and money from the Supernatural fandom. Even people who had never watched the show got drawn into the GISHWHES craziness (it holds the record for the "largest media scavenger hunt") and later drawn into the "SPN family" as a result. Collins, later followed by Ackles and Padalecki, frequently engaged with fans, to use the SPN platform for measurable good. Fans participating in charity drives organized by the cast not only got to interact with the stars but also had a sense of achievement about being a force for good, collectively, that they would never be on an individual level. The Creation Entertainment's Supernatural conventions are not especially ground-breaking in any way either and very cynically, they are money-grabs playing on fans' desire to have access to the cast -- to have a bit of tinsel town…
