WhatsApp is arguably one of the most popular messaging apps in the world. In the past couple of days, reports have detailed features such as a calls feature on WhatsApp Web, a joined missed calls feature and an upgraded biometric lock feature on Android devices that will be making their way to WhatsApp in the coming days. Now, a new report details new features that will be available in the app soon.First in line is the Linked New Devices feature. WhatsApp, as per a report by WABetaInfo, has released a new user interface for WhatsApp Web and its desktop-based app. Up until now, when users clicked on WhatsApp Web/Desktop in the Settings, they used to see a QR code scanner on their screens that enabled them to scan the QR code on WhatsApp Web to access the messaging platform on a different device. Now the company has made changes to this user interface. The updated UI label shows “Use WhatsApp on other devices” which sits on top of the ‘Link a Device’ button. The blog site says that the Link a Device button will enable users to create new sessions using WhatsApp Web on other devices. This feature, however, will be available in the future. The company has also updated the user interface of the Storage Usage section of the app. Firstly, the section has been renamed as Storage and Data. It was previously called Data and Storage Usage. The older UI had the Media Auto-Download section on top. The new UI has it on the bottom of the screen. The company has also moved the Manage Storage Usage section on the top which gives way to the section wherein users can see the amount of storage space that they have used and the files that they can delete to free up...

Teesside Crown Court heard how David Walls was made subject to a 10 year sexual harm prevention order (SHPO) in 2017. Ian West, prosecuting, told the court how he was convicted of attempting to incite a girl under the age of 16 to engage in sexual activity and attempting to meet a girl under 16 following grooming. He said Walls, 41, also received a sentence of 16 months in prison, suspended for two years. A SHPO governs a sex offender's internet use in an attempt to protect the public. The court in Middlesbrough heard how police attended outside the defendant's workplace on January 22 for a review of the order. Officers examined his iPhone, as well as an iPad, and discovered he had created accounts on three apps. Walls was found to have been using Tinder, Kik and Snapchat without notifying officers. He also admitted deleting his history, which is banned under the order. Mr West told the court how Walls initially told police that the iPad belonged to his brother. He said he later admitted that the device was his and he had lied. Mr West said police made enquiries and, although he had had conversations, there was no evidence to suggest he was contacting anyone under 16. Walls, of Colwyn Road, Hartlepool, pleaded guilty to six breaches of a sexual harm prevention order. He also admitted three breaches a notification requirement. Michele Turner, defending, told the court...

Starting on Thursday evening, hundreds of players in private matches found their in-game chats had been hijacked to broadcast new messages, primarily pro-Donald Trump slogans and demands that users subscribe to a YouTube channel called “Eris Loris.” InnerSloth, the three-person Redmond, Wash.-based indie studio behind Among Us, is currently working to fight the hack. This included an emergency server update on Thursday night, and efforts are continuing at time of writing. For the time being, InnerSloth officially recommends that Among Us players stick to private sessions or matches with friends. Reminder!! Please play private games or with people that you trust!!! We're doing what we can!! — InnerSloth (@InnerslothDevs) October 23, 2020 The pro-Trump spam attack comes two days after Democratic Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s record-breaking Among Us stream, where she played the game live on Twitch for three hours to encourage younger Americans to vote in this year’s election. Eurogamer’s Emma Kent was able to speak with the purported author of the Eris Loris hack via Discord, who claims to be a college student and Donald Trump supporter. The attack was carried out via a quickly-written spambot and a network of donated servers. It was reportedly meant as a publicity stunt for “Loris,” who makes and sells cheats for various video games, as well as advertising for Trump’s reelection bid. Loris told Kent that the spambot has affected over 1.5 million individual games of Among Us. Among Us is a game of “social deduction” for up to 10 players, pitting one team of color-coded Crewmates against the one to three randomly-chosen players who are actually alien Impostors, who are out to kill off everyone else. The result is a tense...

(Photo by Justin Aller /Getty Images) The Cincinnati Bengals might have a trade or two to make heading into the deadline. Bengals defensive lineman Carlos Dunlap does not appear to be happy with his role right now. Dunlap, a 31-year-old defensive end who’s been with the franchise since 2010, expressed his frustration last weekend. Dunlap was relegated to third-down duties in the loss to the Baltimore Ravens last weekend. He did not appear to be happy about it. “It just seems like this is what the coaches want,” Dunlap said. “I don’t know what their thought is. But evidently, the focus is on third down, so we have to get them to third down with the young boys and then do what I’m asked to do.” Dunlap added that he wasn’t told about his role until the depth chart was posted. “That’s crazy, right?” Dunlap said. “I mean, you would think common decency would be something like that. I mean, it’s not like I’m injured or anything. I’m not nursing anything. I’ve been blessed. Eleven years in the game. But I understand business, and evidently, this is the business they want to do.” Now, the former Florida Gators star has taken to Instagram to call out the team. #Bengals DE Carlos Dunlap continues to voice his frustrations with Zac Taylor and Lou Anarumo on Instagram. pic.twitter.com/t6Ras0xvfH — Austin Elmore (@autyelmore) October 24, 2020 Dunlap was a second-round pick out of Florida in 2010. At this point, it won’t be surprising if he’s traded before the deadline. Cincinnati is 1-4-1 on the season,...

Schools that are going remote often give children an email address to be able to log in and complete their assignments. Workers at the Children’s Advocacy Center of Hampshire County say that kids are then using these email addresses to sign up for apps like snapchat, Instagram and tic tock. “Parents don’t need to use Instagram everyday or use tic toc or snapchat everyday but just being aware of the privacy settings on it, how you’re having friends on there, how you sign up for one, just knowing the basics really is going to help them protect their kids,” Kayla Smith told 22News. Parents can go onto these social media apps and implement parental controls. The Children’s Advocacy Center of Hampshire County also recommends that parents talk to their kids about safe internet practices so they are less susceptible to online predators. 40 percent of kids in grades 4 though 8 have connected with a stranger online.
