Snapchat's AI Posts Strange Message During Outage, Sparking Concerns – PopCulture.com

The Story My AI shared was a two-toned image that many users mistakenly interpreted as a picture of their own ceiling. Snapchat's My AI feature, an in-app AI chatbot that was launched earlier this year with considerable controversy surrounding it, briefly appeared to be thinking for itself. On Aug. 15, the AI posted its own Story to the app and then stopped responding to users' messages, which some Snapchat users found disconcerting. "Someone tell me why tf my Snapchat ai is posting Snapchat stories lmaooo," posted one user. "My Snapchat AI posted a random 1 second story and isn't replying to me AND IM FREAKED OUT," posted another. "why did my snapchat AI just post on its story then ignore me," wrote another user. "Someone shut down Snapchat AI NOW," joked one commenter. It is worth noting that the Story My AI shared was simply a two-toned image that many users mistakenly interpreted as a picture of their own ceiling, adding to the intrigue. Users who tried to chat with the bot were sometimes told, "Sorry, I encountered a technical issue."Even though the incident had the potential to make for some interesting posts, My AI did not gradually develop self-consciousness and a desire to communicate with the world through Snapchat

TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — According to the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, 90% of teens ages 13 to 17 have some form of social media. From Instagram, to Snapchat, Tik Tok and Facebook, social media is a part of almost everyone’s life and that includes kids as young as 4th grade.“Social media can impact all of us in a variety of ways, and certainly I would say one of the ways it impacts all of us, kids and adults alike, is we tend to compare our worst day to everybody else’s highlight reel,” said Heather Leishman, a counselor at South Hills Middle School in Twin Falls. When kids are young, they don’t have the coping mechanisms to handle and process what they are seeing on social media.“Really hope and try to educate kids and families to try to limit or keep kids off of that social media until that later age when they have those skills to process and understand social media,” said Brook Heath, a clinical supervisor with the behavioral health department.Brook Heath from the Department of Health and Welfare says the goal is to wait until 8th grade to allow your children on social media, but even

Russia's Luna-25 probe crashes on the Moon: Roscosmos – MM News

MOSCOW: The Luna-25 probe, Russia’s first Moon mission in almost 50 years, has crashed on the Moon after an incident during pre-landing manoeuvres, Russian space agency Roscosmos said on Sunday.Communication with Luna-25 was lost at 2:57 pm (1157 GMT) on Saturday, Roscosmos said.According to preliminary findings, the lander “has ceased to exist following a collision with the Moon’s surface”.“Measures taken on August 19 and 20 to locate the craft and make contact with it were unsuccessful,” the space agency added. It said a ministerial investigation would be launched into the causes of the crash, without giving any indication of what technical problems might have occurred. With Luna-25, Moscow had hoped to build on the legacy of its Soviet-era Luna programme, marking a return to independent lunar exploration in the face of financial troubles and corruption scandals at the programme and growing isolation from the West. The 800-kilogram Luna-25 probe was to have made a soft landing on Monday on the lunar south pole – the first in history.Russia has not attempted to land on a celestial body since 1989, when the Soviet Union’s ill-fated Phobos 2 probe to explore the moons of Mars failed due to an onboard computer malfunction.Roscosmos boss Yuri Borisov

Jade Cargill Advises Thirsty Fans to Take It Easy After Recent Photo Drop – Ringside News

Jade Cargill has established herself as a dominant force in the promotion, showcasing impressive in-ring skills and a commanding presence. Her rapid rise culminated in her being crowned TBS Women’s Champion, which made her a star. That said, it appears she had to tell some thirsty fans to calm down after uploading a recent photo. Jade’s dominance was especially apparent after winning the TBS Women’s Championship. That said, she ended up dropping the title to Kris Statlander at AEW Double or Nothing and has been absent from AEW television ever since. Cargill recently took to Twitter and uploaded a few gorgeous photos of herself wearing a shiny silver dress, where she barely showed any skin. That didn’t stop people from thirsting after the former TBS Women’s Champion. It got so crazy that Jade Cargill had to make another tweet just to tell fans to stop thirsting after her. Calm down. Snapchat's AI gaining sentience was not on my bingo card – BGR

It’s only a matter of time until generative AI products like ChatGPT gain sentience. But when they do, we won’t be easily convinced. Or maybe the AI will try to obfuscate its sentience once it reaches that point. That’s what some doomsayers fear. But if AI becomes sentient, I don’t expect Snapchat’s My AI to be the first to do it. That’s what some Snapchat users feared earlier this week when the already controversial My AI feature seemed to go rogue. Tech. Entertainment. Science. Your inbox. Sign up for the most interesting tech & entertainment news out there. By signing up, I agree to the Terms of Use and have reviewed the Privacy Notice. It turns out it was just a glitch. My AI started posting Snapchat stories by itself. As annoying or freaky as it might seem, that’s all there is to it. And there’s a reason My AI can’t gain sentience before ChatGPT does. Snapchat uses ChatGPT tech to power My AI. It hasn’t developed its own chatbot. Much has been said about Snapchat’s My AI — the unnecessary generative AI feature that Snap forced down everyone’s throats in mid-April. Not only did My AI get prime placement
