TikTok Companies Report Huge Uptick In Users During French Riots – The Messenger

Media companies on TikTok are reporting an uptick in users following days of anti-police protests in France, seemingly confirming French President Emmanuel Macron’s claims that apps like TikTok and Snapchat may have a role in fuelling violent demonstrations. Several media companies that distribute their content on TikTok told Bloomberg that their audience has grown during the riots, which were sparked on June 27 following the fatal police shooting of a French teenager identified as Nahel M. in a suburb of Paris. A police officer has been arrested on charges of voluntary homicide in the 17-year-old’s death. Guillaume Lacrois, CEO of youth-oriented media company Brut, told Bloomberg his company has added 700,000 TikTok subscribers since Mahel’s killing, while Loopsider, another news company that distributes its content via social media, told Bloomberg they’ve had a four-fold increase in views, racking up more than 200 million in a week. The French government has blamed TikTok for fueling the anti-police riots that have gripped the country for nearly a week and called on social media companies to cooperate with law enforcement in identifying participants in protests that have turned violent. On Friday, French President Emmanuel Macron said that social media companies such as TikTok and Snapchat have played

Cover Image Source: Getty Images | Jerod Harris The Good American founder has become the butt of internet jokes as fans spotted a "noticeable" spelling mistake in her latest Snapchat post. Khloe Kardashian held her baby girl True, and the image seemed a throwback. However, the caption on the post brought unwanted attention from hawk-eyed social media users calling her out for the error.  Also Read: Kim and Khloé Kardashian Have Barbies’ Day Out With Daughters & Nieces: “Barbie Girls in a Barbie World” The 38-year-old shared a rather emotional photo of herself and her daughter True, from when she was barely a few months old. She smiled at her baby and wrote, "Reading books with my TuTu has always been one of my favorite things." She ended the caption with three pink-heart emojis, reported The Mirror.  A glaring spelling mistake overshadowed an otherwise adorable post. Khloe misspelled the word favorite (for US spellers) and favorite (for UK spellers). But her version of the word didn't fit in any language; thus, she became a laughing stock for the day.  Grammar nazis and spelling experts jumped on the post and raised many questions. A group speculated she struggles with spelling- others assumed she

Posh boarding school teacher performed sex acts on student he groomed on Snapchat

A teacher has been struck off after it emerged that he had been carrying on an inappropriate relationship with a 16-year-old student. The man, now legally known as Taurapa but previously known as Connor Taurapa Matthews, was a specialist Māori teacher at the Rangi Ruru Girls’ School – an exclusive girls’ boarding school in Christchurch, New Zealand. The girl, Helena Dray, chose to waive her right to anonymity in a Teachers Disciplinary Tribunal. Emmanuel Macron blames social media and video games for outbreak of violence in France

French President Emmanuel Macron has blamed social networks TikTok, Snapchat and video games for the outbreak of violence in France, writes Kotaku. As you know, in any uncertain situation, video games and social networks should be blamed for everything. French President Emmanuel Macron seems to have learned this lesson well. Speaking about the mass unrest that has been raging in some cities for nearly a week, Mr Macron accused social media of inciting the violence. And of course, he didn’t forget video games. Protests erupted in France after police shot dead a 17-year-old Moroccan courier in a suburb of Paris on June 27, 2023. Macron said social media networks play a “considerbale role” in fueling unrest, citing Snapchat and TikTok as examples. He outlined his plan to work with tech companies to remove “the most sensitive content”, saying he expected a “spirit of responsibility from these platforms”. French police are reportedly investigating those posting calls for continued protests on social media. In addition, Emmanuel Macron mentioned video games: “We sometimes have the feeling that some of them are living out, in the streets, the video games that have intoxicated them,” he said of the protesters. As usual. It’s not
