An eastern Oregon man has been charged after federal prosecutors say he sexually abused two minors he met on Snapchat and took them across state lines. He now faces up to life in prison. The Department of Justice said Albert Wayne Johnson, 40, of La Grande is charged with coercing and enticing a minor to engage in sexual activity and transporting a minor with the intent to engage in criminal sexual conduct. The investigation started on Aug. 8 when, according to DOJ, the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call of two minors abandoned at Barton Park in Boring. The children allegedly told deputies they met Johnson on Snapchat and that he had taken them from Washington State through Idaho and into Oregon. They children allegedly claimed that Johnson abused them both multiple times during the trip. OSHKOSH – A Kimberly High School teacher is charged with child enticement for a series of messages he shared with students he knew from working at Winneconne High School.Brian Brown, 24, faces charges in Winnebago County for child enticement-prostitution, soliciting intimate representation from a minor, exposing a child to harmful material and disorderly conduct.He was arrested by the Winneconne Police Department Oct. 1. Kimberly High School announced it had placed Brown on administrative leave Sept. 30.On Sept. 28, the Winneconne High School principal contacted Winneconne police to discuss screenshots of Snapchat messages sent by Brown to a 16-year-old high school student, according to a criminal complaint.The girl had shared five screenshots with the principal. All of the pictures showed a shirtless man, whom officers identified as Brown, sitting in a chair. The images had suggestive captions, including "Come Cuddle," "Your hot" (misspelling you're) and "Wanna make out," according to the complaint. The student told the principal Brown had sent the Snapchat images directly to her over the summer.The student told police Brown added her and some other classmates on Snapchat a few days before school ended in the spring. By Brendan Pierson – A lawsuit filed in San Francisco on Tuesday accuses online gaming firm Roblox Corp of enabling a California girl’s sexual and financial exploitation by adult men. The lawsuit, filed in San Francisco Superior Court, also targets online chat company Discord Inc, Snapchat parent Snap Inc and Instagram parent Meta Platforms Inc. Snap and Meta are already facing dozens of similar lawsuits. Meta declined to comment. Roblox and Snap could not immediately be reached.A Discord spokesperson said the company has a “zero-tolerance policy for anyone who endangers or sexualizes children” but declined to comment directly on the lawsuit.According to the lawsuit, which was seen by Reuters, the girl, S.U., was born in 2009 and began using Roblox when she was nine or ten years old. Roblox is popular with children under 13 but also has adult users.Starting in early 2020, S.U. came into contact with adult men through Roblox, who encouraged her to sign up for Discord, Snapchat and Instagram to communicate with them, according to the lawsuit. SACRAMENTO, Calif. —Andrew Jace Larrabure-Tuma, 20, of Sacramento, pleaded guilty today to unlawful dealing and manufacturing firearms, U.S. Attorney Phillip A. Talbert announced. According to court documents, Larrabure-Tuma used Snapchat to advertise guns for sale. During the investigation, Larrabure-Tuma sold guns to undercover officers and a confidential informant. Larrabure-Tuma, who could not legally purchase a gun in the state of California, ordered kits from the internet, including from a company called Polymer80, a licensed firearms manufacturer in Nevada, and manufactured his own firearms and then sold the guns he had manufactured. A search warrant was executed at Larrabure-Tuma’s residence in Sacramento and law enforcement officers found what appeared to be a firearm manufacturing operation, including partially complete firearms, firearm kits from Polymer80, firearm parts, tools for manufacturing and finishing firearms, firearm accessories, completed firearms, and ammunition. This case is the product of an investigation by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the Western El Dorado Narcotics Enforcement Team. Assistant U.S. Attorney Justin Lee is prosecuting the case. Larrabure-Tuma is scheduled to be sentenced by U.S. District Judge Dale A. Drozd on Jan. 10, 2023. SHAWANGUNK, N.Y. — A Washingtonville man is charged with raping a 14-year-old girl he met on Snapchat, the Ulster County Sheriff’s Office said Wednesday. Marco J. Rivera, age not available, was arrested on Friday, Sept. 21, after detectives received information in June from village of Walden police regarding Rivera’s alleged activities. He was charged with rape, a felony, and with endangering the welfare of a child, a misdemeanor. In a press release, police said Rivera met the girl on the social media platform Snapchat and later met with her on more than one occasion and engaged in sexual intercourse with her. He was arraigned in Shawangunk Town Court and released with tickets for a future court date, the Sheriff’s Office said.
