A WREXHAM man who posted videos of him stamping on his friend's lifeless body and head after stabbing him in the heart has denied murder as his trial began at Mold Crown Court. Mark Jones admitted killing Kyle Whalley on Sunday, July 11, 2021, as the pair drank heavily prior to the European Championship football final, which they had planned to watch at the latter's flat in Rhosymedre. He then posted a number of Snapchat stories to his account admitting the offence and also a graphic video of him stamping on Mr Whalley's head while he lay dead in the flat. But the 19-year-old defendant, from Chester Road in Wrexham, has denied murder, with barrister Gordon Cole QC telling the court that Jones heard voices in his head telling him to harm people because of his deteriorating mental health. The court also heard that Jones, who has attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), was acting partly in self-defence but the jury was also told to consider whether he intended to kill his victim. A new virtual exhibition is bringing queer art to London's Soho. (Snap) A new augmented reality (AR) experience is transforming central London into a dazzling queer art exhibition to celebrate 50 years of Pride in the UK. Launching Saturday (2 July), the day of the Pride in London parade, Pride Augmented: A Celebration of Queer Art brings together six of the most exciting underrepresented LGBTQ+ artists in London. Created by Snap in partnership with London-based arts organisation V.O Curations, the experience begins at 68 Old Compton Street, in the queer heart of Soho. By firing up the Snap camera and scanning the Snap-code on the building’s yellow front, users will see each artwork digitally displayed onto landmarks as they walk down Old Compton Street, known for its historical roots to the LGBTQ+ community. 68 Old Compton Street. A 34-year-old man who used Snapchat to contact girls has been jailed for almost four years after a court heard one victim attempted to take her own life.Belal HussainBelal Hussain first contacted a 15-year-old girl via the social media network in June last year and met up with her in his car in West Bromwich.Later that month he saw her with another 15-year-old girl and pressured both into sexual activity with him before giving them money.After reporting the 34-year-old to West Midlands Police, the traumatised girls told officers they felt scared of Hussain and that they had been pressured by him.Specialist officers in the force's Public Protection Unit carried out an investigation including checks on Hussain’s Snapchat account to identify him before arresting him three months later.When his electronic devices were seized he refused to provide passwords and he did not co-operate during interviews.Hussain, of Jesson Street, West Bromwich, was subsequently charged and pleaded guilty to two counts of sexual activity with a child. He was sentenced at Wolverhampton Crown Court to three years and six months. After all, a world without our dance videos, beauty tutorials and duets would not be a fun place to be.Now Snapchat is working with Google Pixel, UNCMMN, and Will and Jada Pinkett Smith’s Westbrook Media to support the work of Black content creators through their Black Creator Accelerator program. The year-long program begins in November 2022 and will provide 25 Black content creators with a $10,000 per month stipend to support their efforts from idea to execution, personal mentorship, networking opportunities and access to workshops led by experts across Snapchat. Social Snap apparently has more features planned for the service. Snapchat has officially launched its own premium subscription, Snapchat Plus. For $3.99 a month, you get some cosmetic improvements and a chance to use “exclusive, experimental, and pre-release features” in the app.Snapchat hasn’t released many details about what you get for your money. It sounds kinda like Twitter Blue, in that you get features before the rest of Snapchat’s users.Similarly, you get the ability to change the style of the app icon on your phone.“This subscription will allow us to deliver new Snapchat features to some of the most passionate members of our community and allow us to provide prioritized support.” – Snap Inc.The Verge reports that only a few other features are available right now. Social media firms like Snap are under pressure as companies cut back on ad budgets. REUTERS Snap on Wednesday launched a paid version of the Snapchat app in the US, priced at $3.99 a month, and a few other markets, in a major step away from a revenue model dependent mostly on advertising. Snap, which had teased the subscription version, Snapchat+, earlier this month, said it would be available in Canada, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Australia, New Zealand, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates at launch. Social media firms are under pressure as companies cut back on ad budgets in response to rising costs and weakening consumer spending. Last month, Snap said it would miss revenue and profit targets for the second quarter and would have to slow hiring and lower spending, sending its shares down over 40% in a single day.  Initial features in the paid version include the ability to change the app’s icon, see who re-watched a story and pin other users on chat history as a “BFF,” Snap’s senior vice president of product, Jacob Andreou, told tech news site The Verge.
