Snapchat Now Allows Direct Sharing of YouTube Videos – Techlist

Techlist Staff Posted On April 3, 2022 Snapchat has made it easy to share YouTube videos directly from your snap or story, eliminating the need to copy, paste, and attach the video as a link (via Android Police). Both Android and iOS users can use the feature. All you have to do now is go to YouTube, click the “Share” option, and then choose “Snapchat.” Snapchat will open, and the video will appear as its own sticker in your camera, complete with the video’s name, thumbnail, and creator. After you’ve taken your photo or video, you can play about with the size, rotation, and placement of the sticker on the screen. Anyone who sees your snap or story can open the link and watch the video on YouTube or in their web browser. If you’ve ever tried to incorporate a YouTube video in a Snapchat photo or video, you’ll remember having to copy the link from YouTube and then open Snapchat, where you’d shoot your photo or video, tap the paperclip button, and paste the link in (or give Snapchat access to your clipboard). The video would be shown as a resizeable banner with a small thumbnail and the video’s…

ATLANTA – Georgia Attorney General, Chris Carr, has joined a coalition urging TikTok and Snapchat to provide stronger parental controls on children’s social media usage. Release: Attorney General Chris Carr has joined a bipartisan coalition of 44 attorneys general to urge TikTok and Snapchat to strengthen parental controls by providing parents with the ability to monitor their children’s social media usage and ultimately protect them from online threats. “In today’s online environment, children are at a greater risk of encountering harmful content and predatory users,” said Carr. “We know this is a concern for Georgia families, and we stand with them in supporting the development and implementation of strong parental controls meant to keep kids safe. While some children might not understand the risks associated with heightened social media use, providing parents with the tools to protect their loved ones can help to prevent any dangerous or unintended consequences.”   Research increasingly demonstrates the negative impact that social media can have on the physical, emotional and mental well-being of children and teenagers.  This can include decreased self-esteem and greater body-image dissatisfaction to increased exposure to cyberbullying and sexual predation. One app reported that in 2021, it analyzed more than 3.4 billion…

Nessel Wants Parents To Have Access To Kids' Snapchat, TikTok | Radioresultsnetwork.com

Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel and a bipartisan coalition of 44 attorneys general – led by Attorneys General Lynn Fitch (MS) and Josh Stein (NC) – wrote TikTok and Snapchat this week to urge them to give parents the ability to monitor their children’s social media usage and protect their children from online threats using parental control apps. “I remain very concerned about social media’s impact on the mental and physical health of young people,” Nessel said. “We live in a time when everything is shared on social media. Not only does that foster a comparison culture in which our kids are constantly exposed to unrealistic beauty standards, it also exposes them to the hateful rhetoric spewed by those who hide behind keyboards. I will continue to join efforts with my colleagues across the country aimed at protecting kids online.” In addition to joining this action, Nessel previously joined investigations into TikTok and Meta Platforms, formerly Facebook. She also remains firm in her stance that Instagram should not launch a platform specifically for children under 13. Research increasingly demonstrates the negative impact that social media can have on the physical, emotional, and mental well-being of children and teenagers. These range from decreased self-esteem and greater body-image dissatisfaction to increased…
