This gives Apple an advantage over its competitors. If you look at Google's Android ecosystem, you will find that there is much freedom for developers and customers.Apple's lawsuits over the yearsApple is still very restricted and has fought lawsuits over developers jailbreaking the device and customizing it at their own will. One of the latest and ongoing lawsuits for Apple is related to its App Store. Many companies such as Spotify, Angry Birds, Epic Games, etc. have accused Apple of taking a huge cut of 30% for the in-app purchases on its store. While some of them have tried to let users download their app directly through their website, Apple has come forward to defend itself and restrict that as well.Unlike Android, where there are multiples unofficial app stores such as ACMarket, Aptoide, APKPure, etc., Apple doesn't allow its users to download applications from anywhere else than its own App Store. To use unofficial app stores on Apple, namely Cydia, Tweakbox, etc., users need to jailbreak their devices. Following a workout at the gym, Jack hoped to get out to the pub to enjoy the sunny weather and messaged his mates. But sadly his calls for a weekday sesh went unanswered in their group chat.Credit: Jack PotterExplaining his predicament to LADbible back in 2017, a then-19-year-old Jack said: "The weather was beautiful, but they've all just started new jobs so they were bottling going out. I knew half of them wouldn't even reply, let alone turn up, but I wasn't having it." His mates had returned to Brentwood, Essex, from university, so Jack was keen to seize the opportunity to see them. Already at the pub with just one friend - hardly the big reunion he'd hoped for - Jack knew some extreme measures were called for. He decided to message them saying he had bought them a pint. However, he knew they wouldn't believe him without photographic evidence. So, having already got himself a pint of Foster's, he took a Snapchat…

That’s why everyone is jumping on Snapchat’s bald head filter — it gives them a way to see how they’d look without hair. As it turns out, the Snapchat bald head filter is one of the easiest effects to use. Here’s how to try it out for yourself. How to get the Bald Head filter on SnapchatTo get the bald head filter on Snapchat, head over to the Explore page. The filter you’re looking for is called “Bald Character,” specifically the one developed by the Snapchat crew. All you need to do is tap on the filter, then capture a photo to see what you’d look like without hair.As you may suspect, the bald head filter seen on Instagram and TikTok typically comes from Snapchat. As it turns out, there’s a lot of cross-use when it comes to photo effects shared across social media. For example, the no beard filter and the popular Ted Talks filter seen around TikTok both come from Snapchat.Still, not everyone knows how to use Snapchat filters, let alone find specific filters. Fortunately,…

Now every major social media platform, from SnapChat to TikTok, Facebook to Instagram, has them, and we’re all guilty. Raise your hand if you don’t have a fave Insta filter. When I drink with friends on Facebook Messenger Chat, I put on kitty ears once I’m drunk: they’re not only cute, but they also make my eyes bigger and my face a touch narrower. A friend halos herself in angel wings and blue light. We’re smoother, prettier, digital versions of ourselves. We’re also almost forty. Teens grew up in selfie culture. Sophia tells MIT Technology Review that she was in fifth grade when filter use became widespread, and she and her friends were definitely trying to make themselves look better. “Twelve-year-old girls having access to something that makes you not look like you’re 12?” she says. “Like, that’s the coolest thing ever. You feel so pretty.” But what happens when our digital self doesn’t match the person in the mirror? We’re conducting a…

Its unique selling point is an interface that feels closer to a Snapchat-style story or a TikTok feed rather than the swipeable cards found in other dating apps. TechCrunch reports Feels currently has around 100,000 users. Although the app is available globally, the company says its focus is primarily on the French market as it launches more widely. Feels is styling itself as an “anti-dating app,” but to be clear, this is very much still a dating app. You’re still reacting to profiles and having conversations, which, I’m sure, for a lot of people, will end up with them going on dates. At the same time, though, Feels’ interface, ahem, feels different enough from the competition to make it interesting. You can add captions and location tags to your photos. Screenshot: Feels Profiles are made up of a combination of pictures, videos, and answers to prewritten questions (similar to Hinge), but each element fills up your whole screen, and you browse through a profile by tapping on the left or right sides of the screen. Like I said, it’s very Snapchat Stories. They’re the same elements that rival dating apps…
