District officials say the 29-year-old suspect resigned from his position this week. SAN ANTONIO — A middle school teacher within the North East ISD system has been arrested on accusations that he was exchanging lewd and sexually suggestive messages with a student through Snapchat.  A spokesperson for the district says the suspect, 29-year-old Christopher Rocha, resigned this week from his position at Krueger Middle School, adding that he had been with NEISD since 2016.  According to arrest records, Rocha friended and sent messages to the victim through social media, encouraging them to meet up while also sending photos that were sexual in nature. He also, according to an affidavit, "asked the victim to send him photographs of herself" and asked if the victim "wanted to engage in sexual intercourse with him."  At that point, the affidavit states, the victim let a relative know about the messages, and reports with the school district and San Antonio Police were filed.  In speaking with SAPD investigators, Rocha confessed to communicating with other students through social media as well.  Rocha is being charged with improper relationship between educator and student.

Zane Christian captured in West Virginia after allegedly shooting Turner and carjacking someone in BlacksburgSALEM, VA. – The Christiansburg man who was wanted for murdering a man in Salem and carjacking someone else in Blacksburg Monday was caught on Tuesday.Police arrested 25-year-old Zane Chandler Christian nearly 200 miles away, headed west. The Sheriff in Jackson County, West Virginia, which is on the Ohio state line, said his department, along with another local department and the U.S. Marshals, arrested Christian without incident.Sheriff Ross Mellinger said the arrest was anticlimactic, adding they had Christian’s believed location, and he was the the only one there when they arrived.Christian was taken to a West Virginia jail and will be transferred back to the area.According to search warrants filed in court, investigators said Christian was active on Snapchat and was using it while on the run, threatening to hurt others.“Sgt. Miller has personally observed a recent Snapchat video where this user posted a video talking about sniping people,” the warrant read.Christian is charged with murder and reckless handling of a firearm for the shooting at Salem’s Lakeside Plaza on Monday afternoon. Tuesday morning the Salem Police Department identified the victim as Rico Turner of Bedford, whose fiancee is Christian’s estranged wife. The motive is unclear.Turner’s fiancee, as well as three children, were all present when the shooting took place. Christian is also charged with three counts of child neglect.Search warrants also detail that Turner was alive when police arrived on scene. David Guetta has claimed bragging rights as the world’s best DJ, after claiming the mantle at DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJs Awards. Almost 1.3 million people voted for who they thought was the best DJ in the world. The award show, which normally takes place during the Amsterdam Dance Event, was moved to a digital only performance due to the COVID-19 pandemic and streamed on Saturday. Snapchatters who point their phones at the sky will see the French DJ bigger than ever, performing a unique set above them, by way of augmented reality through Snap Camera. Guy Hobeika is a YouTuber, Snapchat artist, and content creator who does pranks, challenges, reactions, and vlogs on his channel called “DRHOBS”. He started his YouTube career back in 2017 and now has 228K subscribers. What makes his channel special, however, is that he’s funny, innovative, and most importantly that he’s not shy about showing his Lebanese side. Guy was born and raised in Lebanon but is now based in Ottawa, Canada. During an interview with Apt613, he stated: “I grew up in Beirut, Lebanon. I stayed there until Grade 12 and then I moved here. As a kid. I had the idea of doing something different, to have an impact.” He also shared his future goals with them, saying: “I want to travel and do more Snapchat around the world. On Tuesday I deleted all of my social media. There were many factors behind this sudden decision, but the overarching one was that I felt like I had to pretend to be something I wasn’t always: I had to pretend to be okay.  Although this might not be the healthiest thing, I generally keep a pretty good wall up around my emotions, which leads most people to believe that I’m totally fine even when I’m hurting deep inside. My fake and real happy faces are almost identical, and I don’t usually express my emotions verbally, other than to a handful of people. Being on social media — primarily on Snapchat and Instagram — made me feel like I had to smile in pictures and keep small-talk conversations going when all I wanted to do was crawl under the covers and never leave. Ignoring people’s messages, or “leaving them on read,” was not an option either, since that could be misconstrued as being passive-aggressive. In reality, I simply did not have the mental capacity to have any sort of social interaction with anyone. My primary concern with deleting most of the easiest ways to keep in touch with people was that I would have no human contact at all outside of my roommate and parents. Nevertheless, just over a week ago I deleted Instagram and Snapchat off my phone and logged out of my Facebook and Twitter accounts. For two days I felt total peace and could truly focus on myself without interruption or pressure from anyone else to act any way that I wasn’t actually feeling, even for a second. A Grundy County grand jury indicted a man on two sex offenses on November 4th. Noah Smukler, 23, of Skokie was charged with two counts of traveling to a meet a minor, both class three felonies.The indictment alleges that Smukler knowingly traveled within Illinois for the purpose of engaging in a sexual act with a 15-year-old child after using Snapchat to entice the juvenile for that purpose.The incident occurred somewhere in the Coal City area on July 26th of 2020. The Coal City Police Department arrested Smukler in late September and he remains free on a $25,000 bond.
