Ed Sheeran Wrote — But Doesn’t Sing — 2 of This Week’s Top 10 Songs in the World

Sheeran bookends the top 10 of the Billboard Global 200 with cowriter credits. Ed Sheeran at Deadline Spotlight: Anatomy of a Song - "F1" held at The Motoring Club on Jan. 9, 2026, in Los Angeles. Earl Gibson III/Deadline As a performer, Ed Sheeran hasn’t reached the top 10 on Billboard’s global charts in over a year and hasn’t topped the list since 2021. But as a songwriter, he bookends the top 10 of this week’s Billboard Global 200 (dated Aug. 8) with cowriter credits. Related For the fourth consecutive week, Shakira and Burna Boy’s “Dai Dai (FIFA World Cup Official Song 2026)” leads the Global 200, which counts Sheeran as one of five writers, alongside Shakira, Jon Bellion, Ahmed Saghir and Alexander “A.C.” Castillo Vasquez. Plus, KATSEYE debuts at No. 10 with “Animal,” cowritten by Omar Fedi, Johnny McDaid, Blake Slatkin, and Sheeran. “Dai Dai” holds atop the Global 200 despite its first week-to-week dip in worldwide consumption since its May release, down 2% in streams to 56.8 million in the week ending July 30, according to Luminate — the first chart tracking week after the conclusion of the World Cup. “Animal” starts with 29.8 million global streams in

Crowd watch performance at Mundi Mundi Bash 2025 Paul Bramble Trending on Billboard Broken Hill Mundi Mundi Bash has sold out its 2026 edition, with nearly 15,000 people expected to attend the outback Australian music festival later this month. The three-day camping festival is set for Aug. 20-22 at Belmont Station on the Mundi Mundi Plains, about 35 km north of Broken Hill in New South Wales. Related This year’s lineup includes The Teskey Brothers, Jon Stevens, John Butler, Boy & Bear, Baby Animals, Jessica Mauboy, The Whitlams, Leo Sayer, Tim Finn, Troy Cassar-Daley, Chocolate Starfish, Mi-Sex, Furnace and the Fundamentals, Wendy Matthews, The Radiators, Shane Howard and Fanny Lumsden. Unforced Variations: Aug 2026 – RealClimate

https://www.realclimate.org/index.php/archives/2026/07/unforced-variations-july-2026/#comment-850169 “B: Changes its mind when the science at the bottom changes” Let us make a case study over this claim.. Inamdar, Ramanathan 1998: In summary, lapse rate changes for the annual cycle are not a valid analog for longer timescale climate changes. However, for reasons given below, the discrepancy in lapse rate changes between observations and GCMs do not alter our conclusion on the role of water vapor feedback. The observed annual cycle warming decreases with altitude, the decadal-scale warming remains roughly constant with altitude, while the GCM warming increases with altitude. When atmospheric warming is not so large as the surface warming, the enhanced emission to space is not so large (when compared with the situation when the warming is about the same at all altitudes), which in turn enhances dGa/dTs, i.e., a positive feedback. However, at the same time, in a fixed relative humidity environment, smaller atmospheric warming implies a smaller increase in absolute humidity, which suppresses some of the increase in dGa/dTs from the lapse rate feedback. Because of these two competing effects, the lapse rate has less than 10% influence on dGa/dTs. What happened here is that after publishing a number of papers using the

I’m going going, back back, to WordPress WordPress – Brandon Donnelly – Paragraph

When I first started writing this blog in 2013, I started on Tumblr. Then about 6 years ago, I decided that Tumblr wasn’t the right platform for a written blog like mine, and so I moved to WordPress (specifically WordPress.com — not a self-hosted setup). About two years ago, I packed up and moved this blog once again, this time to Paragraph . I was trying to shift more of my online activity onchain, and I liked the idea of my posts being permanently stored on a blockchain like Arweave. But it turns out that Paragraph wasn’t the best fit for me. I’m still long crypto and I have it set up to syndicate my posts to the old site , but I found the platform more restrictive than my old WordPress setup, and its recent update also pivots the product to much more of an AI-focused media platform (with more credits to buy), and that’s not how I like to write. I just want to open a blank post editor, write my own words (sometimes post photos), and then hit publish. So, I’ve decided to return this blog to WordPress, but using a self-hosted setup (with Hostinger) and with my

Evidence Suggests the US Dropped a 2,000-Pound Bomb on a Home in Iran, Killing a 2 …

Video and photo evidence of the aftermath of a US strike in Iran’s Qeshm Island suggests that the US dropped a 2,000-pound Mark-84 bomb on a civilian home, The New York Times reported on Sunday. The strike, launched on July 30, killed Qeisar Jafari, who was identified by Iranian media as a taxi driver, and his wife, Zahra, and their two-year-old son, Sina. Two other children from the family survived the strike and were rescued from the rubble. People conduct search and rescue operations at a residential building on Iran’s southern Qeshm Island after it was hit by a US airstrike on July 30, 2026 (PressTV) The strike also displaced a total of 20 households, as the bomb was dropped on a densely populated residential area. The Times report said that its analysis found no indication of a military site near the family’s home and noted that Iranian officials didn’t report military casualties in the attack, and the crater left behind pointed to a Mark-84. “The large crater and structure damage is consistent with a Mark-84 2,000-pound bomb, which can be equipped with JDAM guidance kits,” Trevor Ball, of the Armament Research Services, told the Times. The Times said that
