Time is running short to register to vote in Georgia’s May 19 primary election – Cobb Courier

by Ross Williams, Georgia Recorder, April 17, 2026 If you’re not registered to vote in next month’s primary election, you have until Monday to mark that off your to-do list. You can check whether you’re good to go by visiting the secretary of state office’s My Voter Page. If you’re not, you can register online with a valid Georgia drivers’ license or Georgia ID card. Registering by Monday will allow you to vote in the May 19 primary, where candidates from the two major parties will compete for a place on the ballot for November’s election. Even if you miss the deadline to vote in the primary, you can still register to vote in November. At stake are one of Georgia’s two U.S. Senate seats, the governor and down-ballot races like lieutenant governor and secretary of state as well as any local offices up for election in your area. You can see a sample ballot on your My Voter Page that will show you what races you’ll be able to vote on and the names of the candidates. Early voting for the May 19 primary starts Monday, April 27.

Lee Cronin’s The Mummy Review | Flickreel

Lee Cronin isn’t a household name. Most people will likely need to Google him before remembering that he directed Evil Dead Rise. That said, Lee Cronin’s The Mummy is clearly from the same twisted mind who made that film. Cronin justifies including his name in the title, and not just to distinguish it from the Brendan Fraser version. Cronin’s Mummy has his sick signature all over it. His take on the classic monster is more in the spirit of The Exorcist or Pet Sematary. Lee Cronin’s The Mummy might not be in the same league as those films. If you’re a fan of Cronin’s depraved gifts, though, it’s worth unwrapping. Jack Reynor and Laia Costa play a couple with two children, as well as a third on the way. When daughter Katie goes missing, a sudden sandstorm suggests it’s not a run-of-the-mill kidnapping. Eight years later, Katie is found, although she’s undergone some noticeable changes. Katie only speaks when something sinister is on her mind, her grotesque flesh practically peels off, and she’s developed super strength, giving Grandma multiple savage beatings that are borderline hilarious. This is from the same director who made Evil Dead Rise, after all. When Lee

25 Tumblr Posts For An Internet Refresh | Know Your Meme

Once upon a time, Tumblr was one of the most used social media sites on the Internet. Tumblr was a social media site popular with teens and young adults in the 2010s, and for good reason. It was a huge gathering place for those into fandoms, to start, and it was one of the most customizable platforms around. People could modify their blogs to appear exactly how they wanted them to. On top of that, this social media site allowed for just about anything to be posted and shared, which thrilled people. Over the years, Tumblr experienced some changes in terms of ownership and rules. With new owners came new rules that banned a lot of content people liked. These changes, among other things, drove some people away from Tumblr onto new platforms. The site is still alive, though, and there are still many funny posts and memes coming from there. Enjoy an Internet throwback, or just a fresh look into memes and posts from a site less visited now, enjoy some Tumblr posts shared recently. Spotify and Major Labels Win $322M in Music Piracy Lawsuit – Billboard

At least for now, the court judgment is largely a symbolic victory, as no one has identified the anonymous internet users behind Anna's Archive. The Spotify company logo is displayed as traders work on the floor of the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) during morning trading on February 01, 2023 in New York City. Michael M. Santiago/Getty Images Trending on Billboard Spotify and the three major label groups have been awarded a nine-figure copyright judgment against the pirate library Anna’s Archive — though at least for now, the victory is largely symbolic as the site is anonymously operated. A federal judge entered default judgment on Tuesday (April 14) against Anna’s Archive, which announced in a blog post this past December that it had scraped 86 million songs from Spotify and planned to distribute them via a series of bulk torrents. Spotify teamed up with Universal Music Group (UMG), Warner Music Group (WMG) and Sony to sue the site’s shadowy operators for this “brazen theft” in January. Related Judge Jed S. Rakoff granted an immediate restraining order that barred Anna’s Archive from distributing the stolen songs, but the site’s operators never responded to the lawsuit. Undeterred, they released torrents in February

Cobb commissioners approve right-of-way acquisition for Noonday Creek Trail pedestrian bridge

Cobb County commissioners, at its Tuesday April 14 meeting, unanimously approved a proposal from Cobb DOT to acquire right-of-way for a planned pedestrian bridge along the Noonday Creek Trail, a project aimed at improving safety and connectivity across Cobb Parkway. The proposal outlines a contract with the Georgia Department of Transportation to fund and carry out right-of-way acquisition for the Noonday Creek Trail at SR 3 and Noonday Creek pedestrian bridge project, a segment of a regional trail linking Marietta, Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park, Cherokee County and Woodstock. Safety-focused crossing over major corridor The project targets a crossing at SR 3/U.S. 41/Cobb Parkway just north of Barrett Parkway, where pedestrian and bicycle travel along the trail currently has challenges due to heavy traffic and limited crossing infrastructure. Plans call for a grade-separated crossing that includes elevated boardwalk approaches, a bridge spanning Cobb Parkway, a second bridge over Noonday Creek and a short segment of at-grade trail connecting to existing sidewalks. The full project is expected to extend approximately 0.60 miles across portions of unincorporated Cobb County and the City of Kennesaw. Regional coordination and prior approvals The crossing has been identified as a priority transportation improvement by the Town
