Powder Springs Housing Development Combines Affordable and Market Homes

The affordable housing non-profit Habitat for Humanity and a veteran local homebuilder are partnering to establish a mixed-use housing development in Powder Springs-It is a project that’s breaking new ground in more than one way. The rezoning to allow developers to move forward on the parcel of land in Powder Springs  was approved 5-0 on a March 17 County commission vote. “This is the first time we’ve built a neighborhood with a partner,” says Kyle Huhtanen, CEO of Habitat’s Northwest Metro Atlanta chapter. He indicates their re-imaged structural arrangement comes out of  an earlier rezoning proposal for building a Habitat-only neighborhood. That proposal was denied by county commissioners more than three years ago. “We felt like the appetite for a community that we would complete with one type of affordable  home or starter home was not aligned with what mainly commissioners felt like they wanted,” says Huhtanen. “It was just a concentrated area of (Habitat for) Humanity homes,” said District  County Commissioner Monique Sheffield of the earlier idea that she came out against. “It also adversely impacts economic development…it just kind of pulled down the median income in the area a little bit,” she added, saying that property owners in

National gas price average tops $4 per gallon – Cobb Courier

Georgia and Cobb County prices remain lower due to tax suspension By Larry Felton Johnson According to the AAA fuel price webpage, the national average for a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline slightly exceeded $4 per gallon this morning. This is more than a $1 rise in prices since last month, before the U.S. and Israel launched attacks on Iran. In response to the attack, Iran closed off the Strait of Hormuz, a narrow choke point into the Persian Gulf, sending oil prices into a continuing steep increase. Oil prices this morning stand at just over $103 per barrel for West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude, and over $114 for Brent Crude. Brent is the main international benchmark for the oil market The fact that it is running about $10–$12 higher than WTI suggests ongoing global supply stress, since Brent is more directly tied to seaborne oil markets affected by international disruptions like the current war. Georgia gasoline prices are moderated by the suspension of the state’s fuel tax, and stand at an average of $3.625 as of this morning. Cobb County’s average is slightly higher at about $3.65. Pakistan Role in the International Arena as Mediator – SpecialEurasia

Executive Summary Pakistan is gradually expanding its role as a mediator between the United States government and its principal rivals. From the Doha talks with the Taliban to the upcoming summits in Islamabad involving Iranian interests, its posture is acquiring increasing credibility as a functional intermediary. This report evaluates both the strategic benefits of Islamabad’s diplomatic pivot and the risks associated with this trajectory, given Pakistan’s precarious internal security situation and the delicate power balance in its relations with Washington and Tehran. Key Points Pakistan’s diplomatic expansion may represent a refined strategy to counterbalance Indian influence in South Asia. Ongoing hostilities along the Afghan border and a volatile domestic landscape raise questions regarding Islamabad’s long-term reliability as a stable mediator. Failure to maintain a balanced, non-partisan policy risks Islamabad alienating its neighbours and compromising its strategic partnership with the United States. Background Information On Sunday, 29 March 2026, Islamabad became the venue for two-day consultations among the foreign ministers of Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and Pakistan. Pakistan’s capital city is now a key focal point for an expanding diplomatic drive, which officials deem the most coordinated regional effort thus far to promote direct talks between the United States and Iran.

“If India Does Not Lead, the World Will Bleed”: Dr Indresh Kumar

TAASIR :- S M HASSAN 29 MARCH Conclusion of the Two-Day International Conference of the Forum for Awareness of National Security; Extensive Deliberations Held on Culture, Climate, and History New Delhi, March 29 Dr M Rahmatullah “If India does not lead the world with the values of peace, harmony and coexistence, the world will continue to bleed and remain trapped in cycles of violence and conflict.” This was stated by Dr Indresh Kumar, senior guide and chief patron of the Forum for Awareness of National Security (FANS), while addressing the valedictory session of the two-day international conference Manthan 5.0 at the University of Delhi. Dr Indresh Kumar highlighted the civilizational depth of India and said that the land of India reflects the depth of the Sindhu and the purity and vastness of the Himalayas. He observed that conflicts arise from ignorance, while wisdom provides solutions to every problem. Referring to Lord Rama, he said that it is rare to find anywhere in the world such widespread reverence for a name, noting that parks, buildings and many places in India are associated with the name of Rama. He further remarked that in Persia too, Lord Rama is remembered as Imam-e-Hind. Emphasizing
