Kardashians reveal mystery behind Nori's Black Book

NEW YORK — Kardashian fans were tickled by a big reveal: A California government worker is behind a mystery social media handle that's been cranking out droll posts from North West's point of view since Kim's eldest was born seven years ago. She's Natalie Franklin, 34, of Sacramento, and she was thrilled to appear on Thursday night's episode of "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" after Kim and sister Khloe tracked her down. "Oh, my God, it was so great," Franklin told The Associated Press after the episode aired. "I've never met famous, famous people before." The sisters were equally excited after ruling out various family members and friends as the creator of @norisblackbook on Twitter and Instagram. "She is everything and more," Kim said on the show of meeting Franklin. "She started this account before North even had a personality, so she made up this personality and luckily that's who North's personality is." Khloe added: "I have a legend right in front of us." Fans and the family took to Twitter as the reveal unfolded, swamping Franklin's secret account as the show rolled on. Open for a surprise: The endearing results of Twitter's new image crop

Twitter recently made a small but striking change to its interface: It changed the aspect ratio of cropped images on users’ mobile feeds, meaning many photos that would usually be cropped can now be displayed in their entirety. The sudden shift — one among a slew of changes Twitter began testing in March — gave many people the impression that the social media site had done away with automatic image cropping overnight. (In actuality, the old cropping ratio is still in effect on desktop browsers, and cropping is still happening on mobile but in a different ratio.) Once users started noticing, celebrations ensued, with an outpouring of art-sharing, meme-making, and gentle ribbing. The response provides an interesting lesson in how we use social media and why such unexpected changes often become opportunities for vital community building. Welcome to the vertical art party! Two of the fundamental truths about modern social media is that every platform has its own quirks, and that different communities of users evolve and transform these characteristics in a way that makes each platform unique. Whether they’re well-liked, core features (such as Twitter’s overall brevity) or inconveniences users must work around (like Twitter’s lack of an edit…

Well, there's no way around it: @tumblr is one of the queerest places on the internet.

Is Tumblr queer? What do queer Tumblr users think of the platform? We’re getting to the bottom of these questions. In a recent Twitter post, Tumblr proclaimed it was “one of the queerest places on the internet.” Well, there’s no way around it: @tumblr is one of the queerest places on the internet. How queer? Apparently, folks on Tumblr are 193% more likely to identify as LGBTQIA+ than on any other social media platform … including t.w.i.t.t.e.r. Is that you? Are you #tumblrqueer? pic.twitter.com/42jEbt2Nto — Tumblr (@tumblr) May 4, 2021 “How queer? Apparently, folks on Tumblr are 193% more likely to identify as LGBTQIA+ than on any other social media platform … including t.w.i.t.t.e.r. Is that you? Are you #tumblrqueer?” This was promptly ratio’d by nearly 2,000 replies and 3,000 quote tweets by current and former queer Tumblr users telling them that, actually, Tumblr is not one of the queerest places on the internet — it’s far from it. The platform’s decision to ban all “adult content” from the platform in 2018 was poorly handled. And while initial intentions may have been to truly create a better, safer space (before the ban, Tumblr was hosting child pornography and revenge porn),…

Murphy, NC Resident Is Sentenced To Six Years For Distribution Of Child Pornography

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – On Tuesday, May 11, 2021, U.S. District Judge Max O. Cogburn Jr. sentenced Lawrence Keith Limon, 52, of Murphy, N.C. to 72 months in prison for distribution of child pornography, announced William T. Stetzer, U.S. Attorney for the Western District of North Carolina. Limon was also ordered to serve a lifetime of supervised release and to register as a sex offender after he is released from prison. Ronnie Martinez, Special Agent in Charge of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) in Charlotte, and Sheriff Derrick Palmer of the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office join Acting U.S. Attorney Stetzer in making today’s announcement. According to filed documents and statements made in court, from June 2017 to January 2019, Limon engaged in the online distribution of images depicting the sexual abuse of children. Court records show that law enforcement became aware that an individual, later identified as Limon, was distributing multiple child pornography using various internet platforms, including the social media blog platform Tumblr.com and a Gmail email account. On March 12, 2019, law enforcement executed a search warrant at Limon’s resident, seizing three electronic devices including a tablet, a cellphone and a laptop. A forensic…

Rumor: Lucasfilm Making Changes To The Bad Batch After Star Wars Activists Claimed The Show …

A new rumor claims that Lucasfilm will be making changes to The Bad Batch after a number of Star Wars activists claimed the show and characters are racist. Back on May 7th, Bounding Into Comics reported that Star Wars activists particularly those at Project Stardust and a Tumblr user named clonehub were demanding Lucasfilm “unWhiteWash The Bad Batch.” Specifically clonehub claimed, “The Bad Batch has been whitewashed in two ways: through their visual and physical design, and through their voice actor.” (L-R): Omega and Hunter in a scene from “STAR WARS: THE BAD BATCH”, exclusively on Disney+. © 2021 Lucasfilm Ltd. & ™. All Rights Reserved. Clonehub made clear his issue with voice actor Dee Bradley Baker, who has been voicing clone troopers since The Clone Wars animated film. The Tumblr user stated, “Dee Bradley Baker is a white man from Colorado who was chosen to play a group of men of color with an ethnically-tied dialectical accent.” “If it still isn’t clear, Baker being white and doing this accent is equivalent to him being hired to play a Black character and then poorly attempting an African American Vernacular English accent (aka “blaccent”, ebonics, etc.). It’s racist,” he asserted. (L-R):…
