The KPop Demon Hunters phenomenon is everywhere these days — even on Saturday Night Live . The mega-hit Netflix movie was at the center of a sketch in Saturday’s SNL season premiere, with host Bad Bunny playing a man named Thomas who was obsessed with the movie. In fact, he even labeled his brunch companions “stupid dummies” for not being as obsessed as he was. But he was comforted by the fact that “I have Huntr/x on my side,” imagining the band from the movie singing the chart-topping song “Golden,” with the real singers — Ejae, Audrey Nuna and Rei Ami — popping up in his fantasy. While his brunch mates insisted on talking about other subjects, Thomas screamed out in terror as the demon Jinu (played here by Bowen Yang) popped in to demand their souls — and to sing “Soda Pop,” which turned one of Thomas’ friends into a drooling demon. They were all saved, though, when Huntr/x joined them at the brunch table to sing “Golden,” complete with backup dancers. The "100 Voices" campaign argues that the proposed acquisition "would narrow the range of voices, styles and cultures that reach the public." Trending on Billboard Leaders across indie music are once again teaming up to speak out against Universal Music Group’s proposed acquisition of Downtown Music Holdings with a new campaign. Dubbed “100 Voices,” the campaign argues that the deal, which is currently the subject of an investigation by the European Commission, “poses a serious threat to competition, diversity and fair access across the music industry,” according to a press release. Downtown operates distribution platforms FUGA and CD Baby, the royalty accounting service Curve and the indie publishing admin services provider Songtrust, among others — all of which are heavily utilized by independent labels and artists. Recently , KPop  Demon Hunters became the most-watched title on Netflix, ever. So it’s no huge surprise that Spirit Halloween has unveiled its KPop Demon Hunter costume line. The animated film has officially broken streaming records, garnering an impressive 236 million views in its first month alone. This monumental viewership count has secured its place as the most-viewed title ever on the streaming giant. The film even brought in $18 million during its opening weekend —a first for a Netflix Original. It’s no surprise that the studio wasted no time in confirming the future of the franchise. A sequel has already been announced! The movie centers on Korean pop superstars Rumi, Mira, and Zoey, who live double lives. When they aren’t thrilling millions of fans, they are using their martial arts skills and powerful stage presence as demon hunters. Their mission is to protect their massive fanbase from supernatural threats that are always lurking nearby.
