Game of the Year Contenders Trump Starfield in Twitch Viewership – Game Is Hard
The 2023 Game of the Year debate is in full swing, and while Starfield has enjoyed massive success, it has been overshadowed by other contenders in one key area. So far, 2023 has been an impressive year for gaming, with titles like The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom, Diablo 4, Hogwarts Legacy, and Baldur’s Gate capturing the attention of players worldwide.When it comes to measuring hype, an often overlooked aspect is Twitch viewership. Despite big-name Twitch streamers like former CS:GO pro shroud and Asmongold streaming Starfield, the new Bethesda RPG failed to surpass the viewership numbers of four other Game of the Year contenders.According to Streams Charts, Diablo 4 and Hogwarts Legacy garnered 12.7 million and 12.4 million hours of watch time respectively on their launch days. Trailing behind them was Baldur’s Gate with 3.7 million hours, followed by Star Wars Jedi Survivor with 2.6 million hours.
