A former titan of Twitch, Mitch Jones dominated the streaming community for years. The once-Top 10 streamer forged a unique path to stardom which landed him as a household name, boasting over half a million followers and pulling multi-thousand viewer streams on the regular. Twitch streamer LuluLuvely has slammed male viewers for “shaming” her relationship. Lulu pointed out that “women in gaming” are often objectified while insisting “incels” won’t invade her “happiness.”  Twitch has been at the center of criticism surrounding women’s safety for quite some time. Their decision to ban words like “incel” prompted eye-rolls from non-male streamers, who said they could do more to “prevent pile-ons and insults towards women.” Female streamer Sweet Anita has routinely called out creepy fans as well. The UK-based content creator told HuffPost that “they do this to me… no matter what I do or how I dress.” Even OfflineTV star Pokimane has been outspoken about harassment within the industry. Riot Games game design director Stephen “Mortdog” Mortimer answered questions from fans during an AMA today, revealing why Teamfight Tactics Set Five was less exciting than Sets Four and Three.  Set Five of TFT launched with most players seeking something new and exciting from the auto battler. The second day after the set’s release was the most-played day in the history of TFT. But the hype quickly dissipated for Set Five, with Mortdog revealing internal issues and a lack of rule-bending for the lack of excitement during an AMA stream on Twitch today.  With the release of TFT Sets Three and Four, the popularity of the auto battler grew, requiring more attention behind the scenes.  “In the development side, we ended up having to be a little rushed as we transitioned people and got new people on the team,” Mortdog said. Multiple team members ended up taking on additional roles, resulting in the lead set designer also being in charge of the lead mechanic—with “neither getting the full attention it needed.” Unlike Set Four Fates, Set Five ended up containing less “rule-bending,” in which the team should have explored mechanics and ideas “outside the expected parameters.” Mortdog attributed a culmination…

In a heated podcast featuring Trainwrecks, H3H3, and Hasan, star streamer Felix ‘xQc’ Lengyel went further than just calling out gambling streams; he pointed to streamers promoting smoking and alcohol on their broadcasts, like Mizkif’s Fireball Fridays, as being just as dangerous. Popular Twitch streamer Sweet_Anita has threatened to quit streaming due to the “mental toll of being at the mercy” of strangers hyper-sexualising her online. In an interview with HuffPost, Anita claimed the pressure was not “survivable” long-term. “These people are literally ruining my experience of streaming,” she told the HuffPost. “It’s basically like having millions of people be your boss, and your boss is allowed to sexually harass you every day.” Anita boasts over 1.7 million followers on the platform, where she has risen to success for playing games like Overwatch and Among Us. However, it’s also worth noting that her real name isn’t even Anita, that’s just an online alias she uses because she’s worried about privacy concerns.
