Can you believe a year has passed already since we started this sweet little journey we like to call Indie-licious? A year full of new and interesting indie games brought to your table? A year chock full of a wide variety of gaming goodness? It blows our minds too, but it’s true. Indie-licious is one year old. It was on March 30, 2020 that the maiden voyage of Indie-licious took place, sharing with you the then-early access Hades (which would go on to win multiple Shacknews Year of the Games 2020 awards, such as Shacknews Top Indie of the Year!). Since then, we have played many a game, many of which would also find their place on that hallowed list. Dr Disrespect has made his way back on Twitch through his likeness thanks to some recent GTA RP streams that have taken place on the NoPixel server.The NoPixel GTA RP server is a role-playing server that many of the largest streamers have been playing on. After the rise of the streamer Rust server that was created by OfflineTV, GTA RP appeared to be the next big thing. Streamers like xQc and Summit1g are just a couple of streamers that use the server.Burn, another streamer on the GTA RP server, brought his own Dr Disrespect character into the game. Not only was that yet another entertaining character for viewers to watch, but it was the latest way in which Dr Disrespect has appeared on Twitch after his ban.Not only did Burn take on the role of Dr Disrespect, but he also replayed infamous moments such as going into a bathroom with the character and tweeting out a picture of it in a game. It was a reference to a temporary Twitch ban that Dr Disrespect had in the past, when his cameraman followed him into the bathroom with other people during a livestream.Dr Disrespect and his appearances on Twitch with games…

Super Smash Bros. streamer Nairo will begin streaming on YouTube while continuing to appeal his now controversial Twitch ban. The long and winding history of Twitch bans is a storied tale with many notable streamers among the casualties. With the exception of Dr Disrespect's Twitch ban, perhaps none were so prolific as Super Smash Bros. streamer Nairoby "Nairo" Quezada's case, a case that continues to unfold as Nairo makes the move to YouTube. It all began when Nairo was accused of having a sexual encounter with the streamer Zack ‘CaptainZack’ Lauth when Nairo was 20 and Zack was 15. The sexual misconduct allegations rocked the Super Smash Bros. esports community and led to Nairo being banned from Super Smash Bros. competitions. Shortly after the allegations were made against Nairo, the streamer tweeted that he had messed up tremendously and was wrong, however in October last year he released a statement explaining his side of the story and stating it was Zack who had molested him, not the other way around. The statement claims that at the CEO Dreamland competition of 2017, Zack and his friends approached Nairo and told him they had made a booking error with their hotel rooms. Zack…

The Grand Theft Auto franchise has been very popular and even nostalgic for many. Most remember playing the game recklessly, opening fire, and not obeying the law. Probably, Valkyrae also grew up playing GTA exactly like this. So when she recently played on the NoPixel GTA RP server, she broke a rule without even realizing her mistake. Rae was driving around with Yuno, shooting randomly at people. Clearly, she was very new to the server and the concept of GTA RP. As an RP novice, Valkyrae was not aware of most rules, including the NVL or No Value of Life. The rules for RP are crucial for an immersive experience as they support a close to a real-life simulation of the game. Without the rules, the server will naturally descend into utter chaos and anarchy. Therefore, when Valkyrae fired back at someone pointing a gun at her, RP players were not too happy. Valkyrae raids the Twitch streamer who shot her CathFawr, a Twitch streamer, was roleplaying a gang member when Rae walked into her house. In any case, they're all valuable. Twitch star Sebastian ‘Forsen’ Fors regained his Minecraft speedrunning record from Felix ‘xQc’ Lengyel by the barest of margins, and had to drop some trash talk once it was all said and done. For weeks, Forsen and xQc have been going back and forth in their own personal Minecraft speed-running quest. The goal is simple, defeat Minecraft’s Ender Dragon and ‘complete’ the game in the fastest time possible. The pair have got things down to a science and regularly trade records, forcing each other to stop playing different games and focus on Minecraft in a bid to get the record back. In mid-March, xQc reclaimed the crown with a sub-21 minute time and said he’d give up on Minecraft speedrunning if Forsen was ever able to beat that time. Well, now that’s happened. YouTube / xQcOWxQc was the most-watched streamer in 2020, in terms of hours watched. After giving up on GTA RP and heading back to the Mines, Forsen finally got the luck on his side on April 2, and despite a shaky overworld run, defeated the Ender Dragon in quick fashion. Twitch is home to a wide variety of streamers, personalities, and accidents, but this particular event isn't something you ever see.Streamer Mayor Reynolds lost a ranked Apex match because his glass eye popped out of the socket. Three squads left in the match and Reynolds exclaims "Oh my God" as the glass eye shoots across his streaming set-up and makes a small "dink" sound off the equipment.Reynolds got up from his chair, recovered the glass eye, leaves the room, and assumingly does whatever needs to be done to properly return the glass eye to its rightful position. Normally, fans in the United States would only be able to catch the championship action via Twitch. But for the first time the games were also available on NBCSN, which hosted Isobel Cup games in the U.S. while Twitch took point on the international stream for the playoffs. Twitch has levied a ban on SmashGodxXx after a clip of his alleged assault on his girlfriend went viral. In the clip in question, Smashgodxxx turns his camera away, a door is slammed, and a clear slap-like sound is heard. SmashGodxXx denies the accusations and has tried to downplay the situation, claiming that nothing happened and laying blame at the feet of his his girlfriend. SmashGodxXx claims that if she wants to “act up for content, or whatever it may be, and she wants to cost my life for this and my job, that’s on her.” Though an uncomfortable watch, the whole 16-minute VOD is here.
