How to reduce Stream Delay on Twitch

Photo by AronPW/Creative Commons When streaming on Twitch, ensuring that there is minimal delay between your streaming software and Twitch’s feed is critical for being up to date with your chat. As discoverability is so difficult for new streamers on the platform, making a good first impression on any new viewers is vital for growth, and any delays between your OBS and the Twitch feed could be enough to turn away anyone new checking out the stream.  As such, you will want to keep this delay down to a minimum so that you can give the best experience to your viewers for your stream. To do this, there are some measures that you can take in your streaming software to help delay any delays.  One of the first aspects that you should check is your video bitrate. This is one of the main aspects of streaming that can cause a strain on both your computer and your internet connection. If you find that your internet is not fast enough to support the bitrate at which you have set, then lowering it will take less of your upload bandwidth to process and send to Twitch smoothly.  The table below offers a…

Anyway, it’s 2021 and the internet has indeed changed us forever, but mostly in that we can now spend our days doing stuff like watching a stop sign in Salem, Massachusetts that nobody stops at.As Kotaku reports, Stopsigncam is a Twitch channel that’s been streaming a Salem intersection where, its title estimates, “98.73% of Vehicles don’t stop.” Apparently this stream has been going “since at least last year,” just documenting the many cars that pass the sign, hardly ever stopping. It gained more attention recently, though, after the YouTube channel JhbTeam let people know about the feed through a TikTok and summary video where it’s called “one of the best streams in existence.”Now, Stopsigncam has around 150,000 followers on Twitch who just hang out in its chat section betting and commenting on which cars will stop and which will drive right through the intersection. The most devoted stop sign fans have…

K-pop star Jae Park shuts down Twitch account after simulating oral sex on his 'sugar daddy'

Jae Park. (JYP Entertainment) Day6’s Jae Park has shut down his Twitch account following a backlash to “sugar daddy” comments. The Korean-American K-Pop star was playing the game Rust on a now-deleted livestream in which he made “inappropriate” comments. Park simulated oral sex on another player character saying, “This guy, he is my sugar daddy,” then “just look away” a few moments later. The singer received considerable backlash from the Korean public, according to KpopStarz, who believed his actions were worse than curse words. In a follow-up live stream, Park addressed the controversy stating: “Honestly, for me, it is just something I did with my friend. Maybe this is a cultural difference, but I will refrain from commenting on it… I really think that it is because of a big cultural difference. “Whenever I speak in English, the direct Korean translations are often made to be problematic numerous times,” he said. “If you choose to mistranslate what I say and purposely try to create problems from it, you might want to stop watching my streams for your own betterment.” The singer later apologised afterwards on Twitter in a statement in Korean that he “sincerely apologise to those who were hurt”…

French politicians turn to Twitch to brush up their comms

Press play to listen to this article PARIS — Frightened of being denied their traditional rallies and handshakes in market squares due to COVID-19 restrictions, French politicians are turning to social networks such as Twitch, Instagram, and Clubhouse to get their message out. Twitch in particular, despite being better known as a platform for livestreaming video games, has seen a rush of attention. In the past few weeks alone, former President François Hollande, government spokesperson Gabriel Attal and even Prime Minister Jean Castex have turned to the platform for live chats, hoping to reach a new audience. A comment from Hollande on his biggest regret from his time as president of France — “not having run for re-election” — went viral and fueled speculation about his potential desire to return to politics. 7 Retrieve Tips For Minnowbaits

This article originally appeared in the June/July 2016 issue of Musky Hunter. To see more classic articles like this, subscribe to the Musky Hunter Digital Collection: https://simplecirc.com/subscribe/musky-hunter-collection By Steve Heiting, Managing Editor We knew the musky was there; after all, it had showed itself for three consecutive days. A thick patch of green cabbage along the shoreline was its haunt, and four times it had deeply followed a bucktail before turning away at boatside. Now a cold mist was falling, and the wind had switched around to the north — not the conditions you would expect a big musky to bite, especially a fish whose interest had previously been no better than lukewarm. And, the lure would run four or five feet deeper than the bucktails the musky had followed previously, making it something she could eat without coming up to the…
