Why was Mizkif banned from Twitch? Reason explored – Sportskeeda

Popular streamer Matthew "Mizkif" has been banned from Twitch. On September 19, 2025, Mizkif hosted a sponsorship livestream, and at one point, the channel went offline. Eventually, a message appeared when trying to access his channel, saying that it was temporarily unavailable due to a violation of Twitch's Community Guidelines or Terms of Service. Message that appeared on the streamer's channel (Image via Twitch) On the same day, a two-minute-57-second video of Mizkif conversing with a Twitch staff member named "Pluto" surfaced on social media platforms such as X and Reddit. According to Pluto, Mizkif got banned from Twitch because of the comments he made about Charlie Kirk's death. He said: "Because of the Charlie Kirk stuff. You... the guidelines say, 'Gloryfying, endorsing, or expressing approval of a person's past on current traumatic events,' and you said some things in a VOD, I don't know if it was yesterday or when it was, that was basically making light of his death. You know, you said things like... apparently crossed the line when you talked about how you're glad he's dead... yeah, and then you went on to say, 'I'm kidding or am I?'" The co-founder of OTK (One True King)

‘We just want answers’: Owners of missing cat believe he jumped into Amazon delivery van

HENRICO, Va. (WWBT/Gray News) - The owner of a cat in Virginia said he has been missing since an Amazon delivery van pulled up to her home with the doors open. Rebecca Myer believes her cat, Twitch, jumped into the van at some point while it was stopped. However, she said she cannot get an answer about the situation from the company. “We’re not blaming anybody, really. I just want answers as to where he could have jumped out at,” Myer said. Myer lives on a lot of land in Sandston by the woods. She said her driveway is about a quarter of a mile long. As an animal lover, she said she takes in all kinds of pets, including cats, and helps raise them in a safe home. Twitch is a little over 1 year old. Myer said she rescued him along with his two siblings and their mother, and all of the felines have become a loving part of her family. “His left ear is clipped. He has an all black tail with a white tip,” Myer said. “He walks with a little head tilt, so we named him Twitch. He had an ear infection when he was

Reddit, Discord, Twitch & Steam CEO’s Called To Congress To Discuss Extremism On Platforms

The CEO’s of Steam, Discord, Twitch and Reddit have been invited to testify before Congress to discuss the potential for radicalisation on online forums following the death of conservative commentator Charlie Kirk. “Congress has a duty to oversee the online platforms that radicals have used to advance political violence,” said Chairman of the House Oversight Committee James Comer, a Republican from Kentucky, in a statement. “To prevent future radicalisation and violence, the CEOs of Discord, Steam, Twitch, and Reddit must appear before the Oversight Committee and explain what actions they will take to ensure their platforms are not exploited for nefarious purposes.” Comer would then go on to say, “The politically motivated assassination of Charlie Kirk claimed the life of a husband, father, and American patriot. In the wake of this tragedy, and amid other acts of politically motivated violence, Congress has a duty to oversee the online platforms that radicals have used to advance political violence.” Letters from the House Oversight Committee have been sent to Humam Sakhnini, CEO of Discord; Gabe Newell, president of Steam maker Valve; Dan Clancy, CEO of Twitch; and Steve Huffman, CEO of Reddit, requesting their testimony on Oct. 8. House Oversight Committee Chair Rep. James Comer (R-Ky.) has called on the CEOs of Discord, Steam, Twitch, and Reddit to testify at a hearing on October 8. The hearing will examine how online platforms may contribute to radicalization and incitement of politically motivated violence. Rep. Comer announced the hearing in an X post, citing the politically motivated assassination of Charlie Kirk. The committee will question platform leaders on what measures they are taking to prevent their services from being exploited for extremist purposes. The platforms targeted—Discord, Steam, Twitch, and Reddit—have previously faced scrutiny for hosting communities linked to harmful or extremist content. Comer stated that Congress has a duty to oversee online spaces used to promote political violence and prevent further radicalization. The hearing is scheduled for October 8 before the House Oversight Committee. Digital platforms are introducing new age verification systems to keep kids safer online … – Tubefilter

Twitch is the latest platform to roll out amped-up age verification systems and policies amid mounting concern over children’s safety online. YouTube recently introduced a system that will use machine learning to parse a user’s search and watch activity, and will automatically apply age restrictions if it believes a user is under 18. (If a user gets mistakenly flagged as a minor, they can prove their age by submitting a government-issued ID—a solution that’s drawn criticism from people like VTubers, who are worried their personal information will be leaked.) Meanwhile Roblox, facing several lawsuits from families of children who were abused and in some cases kidnapped by men who found them on its platform, introduced a system where users have to send in videos of their faces and sometimes government IDs to prove they’re age 17 or older. Users who haven’t verified their ages are not allowed in games or spaces that have “private” locations like bedrooms and bathrooms, nor virtual bars or clubs. Twitch Plays Death Stranding: Chaos, Cargo, and Collective Faceplants September 15, 2025

Death Stranding is already a wild ride. It’s a game where you, as Norman Reedus, deliver packages across a post-apocalyptic America while avoiding ghost monsters and chugging energy drinks. You’d think that’s chaotic enough, right? Well, hold my Monster Energy can, because one streamer just cranked the absurdity dial to eleven. A Twitch streamer has ingeniously turned Hideo Kojima’s masterpiece into a cooperative nightmare, giving Death Stranding its very own Twitch Plays Pokémon moment. And honestly, it’s the kind of beautiful disaster we live for. Image from Death Stranding, Courtesy of Kojima Productions From Catching ‘Em All to Delivering It All Remember Twitch Plays Pokémon ? That glorious social experiment from 2014 where thousands of people spammed commands into a chat, trying to collectively guide Red through the Kanto region? It was a beautiful, hilarious train wreck that somehow, against all odds, succeeded. It was a testament to the internet’s ability to achieve the impossible through sheer, unadulterated chaos. Now, imagine that same energy, but instead of navigating a pixelated kid, the chat is responsible for keeping Sam Porter Bridges from face-planting into a rock every five seconds. Streamer ‘scump’ has rigged Death Stranding so that his entire Twitch chat
