04 June 2025 One-hundred-and-sixty years ago next month, on 2 July 1865, evangelist William Booth preached to a crowd of people in a large tent in the East End of London, England. This moment is considered the birth of The Salvation Army, which today is a global movement that shares the love of God in 134 countries around the world!  In recognition of this significant anniversary on 2 July 2025, The Salvation Army International Headquarters has created eight short films chronicling the vast and varied mission of the global Salvation Army over the past 160 years.  The first film is available now and looks at the duality of being a church and charity. June 27–28, 2025 @ Nimbus Surfing Club, Marina di Pietrasanta (LU) Sport, music, art and inclusion to celebrate the summer The Black Yeti is heading back to the Tuscan coast for a special weekend combining creativity, sport, and music.On Friday June 27 and Saturday June 28, 2025, the Nimbus Surfing Club in Marina di Pietrasanta will host the World Rookie Tour Summer Party, an event that marks the conclusion of the “Spazi Civici di Comunità*” project and aims to continue the journey started during the Rookie Camp by welcoming back its participants for a new shared experience by the sea. Throughout the weekend, participants can join the he.Art workshop, a collective and inclusive creative project led by Amir Issaa  – rapper and activist – together with local artist Anna Stella Zucconi . The workshops are open to everyone and will include young people with disabilities and vulnerabilities, working side by side with their peers in an artistic collaboration space that fosters real inclusion. Part of the workshop will be focused on graffiti art as a powerful form of urban and creative expression, giving participants the chance to experiment with street art techniques and share their stories through colors, signs and public walls. Anjali Sud, CEO of the streaming platform Tubi, has been elected to Harvard University’s Board of Overseers, one of the institution’s two governing bodies, according to a report by Deccan Chronicle.  Sud, born in 1983 to Punjabi immigrant parents in Detroit, Michigan, will serve the remaining two years of the term left vacant by Mark Carney, former Governor of the Bank of Canada, who resigned on March 9, 2025. A 2011 Harvard Business School MBA graduate, Sud brings leadership experience from senior roles at Amazon, Time Warner, and Vimeo. She currently chairs the board of Change.org, serves on the board of Dolby Laboratories, and is part of the executive committee of the development board at Phillips Academy, Andover. Sanjay Seth elected to Harvard Alumni Association Sanjay Seth, another Indian-American and a distinguished expert in climate and sustainability, has been elected as the new Director of the Harvard Alumni Association (HAA).
