This is the moment a fraudster attempted to steal thousands of pounds worth of cryptocurrency from an unsuspecting victim while receiving instructions from a co-conspirator on Snapchat. Anthony Ikenwe, 29, Hamza Bashir, 23, and Kevin Nwamma, 25, called their victims while posing as police officers, falsely claiming their cryptocurrency was at risk and urging them to take immediate action. After obtaining their details from the dark web, the trio tricked victims into revealing account information or transferring their digital assets to accounts they believed had been set up by police for protection — but which were actually controlled by the fraudsters. (Provided) SYMMES TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WKRC) - Two people will spend the next two years in prison for their roles in an illegal prostitution ring operating out of a Symmes Township massage parlor. Yinliu Shi and Zhiguo Zhang were sentenced to two years in prison. A third person involved in the case, Pingwei Cheng, remains on the run. Shi and Zhang, described as natives of Flushing, New York, pleaded guilty to operating the brothel out of the Sunflower Spa on Loveland Madeira Road. In addition to taking money for sex acts at the spa, the three were said to have laundered hundreds of thousands of dollars through multiple bank accounts. The illegal activity began as early as June 2023.

An Illinois woman has been arrested 25 years after a newborn baby—known to the community as baby Jacob Hope—was discovered in a bag and tossed into a dumpster behind a grocery store.  Jennifer Lebron, 48, is now facing two counts of involuntary manslaughter in connection to the infant’s death after investigators used genetic genealogy to identify her as a suspect, according to a joint statement from the Round Lake Beach Police Department and Lake County State’s Attorney’s Office. “I was personally at the scene of this incident in 2001, and the memory of that day has remained with me throughout my career,” Round Lake Beach Police Chief Ryan Rodriguez remarked. “Jacob Hope deserved answers, dignity, and justice. (WKRC) — A New Jersey woman is in jail after she was accused of sexually assaulting a child under 13, recording the assaults and posting them to Snapchat. Victoria Cranmer, 25, was arrested and charged on July 8 after a witness discovered the videos on her phone, according to court documents. The witness, identified as Ms. P, said she kicked Cranmer out of her home in May after a falling out and then asked Cranmer to return the iPhone she had given her as a birthday gift, a probable cause affidavit obtained by NJ.com alleges. Ms. P then reportedly looked through Cranmer's phone and found a 14-second video in Snapchat's Memories storage that showed a person, believed to be Cranmer, acting inappropriately with a child. The witness identified the person as Cranmer based on her voice and distinct tattoos, especially those of breasts, a lightning bolt and a mushroom on one of her legs.
